My sister wrapped one of those around a tree circa 1989 or so. It didn't fare well at all.

I went from disgusted to mildly interested and now I fawn over them. We chased one over the passes on our way to Bend a few weeks ago and it looked surprisingly well planted.

+1 on the Elio.

I also want a '94-'97 Buick Roadmaster Wagon, LT1 equipped.

Or any old school, fake wood-grain sided land barge wagon.

Mid '70's Plymouth Fury, in cop trim like Fred Dryer drove in "Hunter". That show was so cool (in my memory).

Good luck finding one. I'm pretty sure he destroyed all of them.

I'm not sure I'm embarrassed by what I want. that said I wouldn't mind a gigantic land yacht from the 70's.

I'm not sure it's possible to be embarrassed about a particular car desire in this crowd. Many of you have already gone down the worst paths imaginable to the average plebe and ended up with something born of the unholy union of bad judgement and awesomeness.

I mean... Yugos, Biturbos, Wartburgs, and gasp... late-model Volkswagens even!

That said, here's my terrible choice: Bricklin SV1.

Also like many here I have a thing for the AMC Pacer, it's cousin the Gremlin, and 70's land yachts. I'll take mine in a two-door convertible please. Terrible color interior for bonus points.

A coworker and I walked past a white with worn/faded wood grain Roadmaster, lowered, on Cragars with wide rear tires. It had a local speed/machine shop's sticker in the back window, which let my imagination run wild on what might be under the hood. I proclaimed how awesome I thought it was and how I wanted one. With a look of disgust, and a tone of disapproval in his voice my coworker said, "you would." Some folks just don't get it.

I've learned to accept my social awkwardness and fondness of the unique and quirky. I believe that GRM has helped a lot in learning to embrace the "unnormal," who cares what the masses think? There's a whole niche of like-minded weirdos on the internet to turn to when you find yourself in need of affirmation because no one else really "gets" why anyone would want an AWD, turbo, LSX, Le Car.

Also; A-body El Camino, Corvair(s), Renault Dauphnie, Subaru 360, Riley 1.5, Hillman Imp, Volvos in general, Diesel powered things of all sorts, Isuzu Impulse, wagons, all the wagons, Jeep Eagle, I could go on and on.

X2.

I already have it designed in my head. '60 Impala convertible. Deep black with about a gallon of ultra fine gold metalflake in it. Gold plate everything that was chrome from the factory. Of course gold Dayton's. And a leopard print interior on the original bench seats. Four wheel air bag kit wired through a Raspberry Pi board so I could pop in any music and make the car "dance" to the bass.

Then grab all of my geeky computer buds and just go crusin....
