Anyone know what these are? They were in a box of misc Mopar electrical stuff. I had thought they were voltage regulators but on closer inspection I don't think they are. Looks like they're junk so they're probably getting thrown out but curious what they are.
I have a 74 Dodge Pu. The Voltage reg and Ignition box look very similar and that is what those look like.
Very early control module.

The voltage regulator I have looks similar but it only has two wires connecting to it. All the ignition boxes I've had were either 4 or 5 wire and had a transistor on them.

Any idea what application? How are they wired up? The ignition modules I've had were either 4 or 5 pin connectors.

They are EGR timers.
Feel free to toss them.

Ok, I gotta bite on that one. What does a EGR Timer actually do? The only EGR functions I ever played with through the years were all vacume.
Looks like "Lean Burn" stuff from the late 70's. They were junk when new. Most were bypassed and tossed.
Thanks guys, that's two less things to hang on to

These timers were wired into the vacuum solenoid circuit and keep the EGR closed for a specified period of time (30 to around 90 seconds, depending on the part number) after the engine is started to help prevent stalling.
MoPar also used these timers for a couple other functions well into the '80s, including smog pump and/or spark advance.

Cool info. Thanks!
Glad I never had to deal with those.

They are pretty trouble-free until the potting starts leaking out of them. I've never had one fail.
I just meant the emissions systems that used them...
