Sobe, can you get a lil' better pic of the carb? Seems it was a popular mod "back in the day" to put a Weber DGV on the 1200. If you've got one, you just scored a $200 (new) carb with a $400 car attached.

In reply to friedgreencorrado: The second car I dragged home was a non-running '70 GT6+, Rebuilt it, too. Sold it for a toyota for a daily 85 mle commute to college.
Back to this thread, eventually I became a senior technical editor at Honda North America.....

They've got a Honda forum over there, too (I lurk, looking for a 2nd Gen Lude to snipe..)Great, now I have two magazines to read every month It used to be more, but I've stopped reading about new cars. I think I'm officially an old fart
JD, gotta admit..they're just getting off the ground. I subscribed, and have recieved a grand total of one paper issue. I enjoyed it a lot, but honestly have to admit I was surprised to get even that one.
I'm not "flaming" the guys, I just thought you needed to know that in this particular case, sending a check won't exactly immediately fill your mailbox with goodness. But please..hear me out?
I expected exactly this when I subscribed. The thing is, I really believe in what they're trying to do. I consider it as a "charitable donation" for an up-and-coming part of my (car) culture. I figure if I can send $100 bux each to Planned Parenhood and Amnesty International every damn year, I can certainly send twenty to some of my fellow gearheads trying to document that something new & cool is going on.
Personally, I'm gonna keep sending them money, just because I want them to succeed. Much like another little magazine I saw here in the Southeast about 25yrs ago...

Of course, without an internet to keep folks interested while they were waiting, Tim and Margie actually had to PUBLISH something four times a year..
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I don't really care about new street cars, either. Seems that modern technology has gotten to the point that even a half-decent SUV can safely navigate highways calmly at 75-80mph. But with no style, and no enjoyment of the art of driving. Just sit, steer, and check the mirrors every once in awhile. No thanks.

Damn, sobe..I didn't know you were already a Honda guy! Ignore my question about the Weber, I'm sure you've already looked.
Now that I know you're a Honda guy, tho..
Know anybody with a running/driving 2nd Gen Prelude they'd let go for $1K? I'll go $1300 if it's one of the blue ones...

ROFL! Again..where's the "thumbs up" icon?
Honestly, im for restoring it too. There are plenty of less-rare, less significant, less maintained autos for $600 to do other things with. I personally would like to see that one restored.

I've had the Si version for over nine years. It needs a clutch, it needs a couple of tires, it needs rear brakes, it needs paint, BUT it ain't going anywhere but down the road with me at the wheel.

Yep, it's a DGV. What I really have here, is a $200 carb, $200 deluxe gauges (that would be the tach, and the two in the center of the dash), $200 minimum wheels, and a free car attached
I never really notice, but do you hit the Turner field autocrosses much?
Anyone I have ever seen with a 2nd gen Prelude has been very keen on keeping it, and all of the ones I've ever seen for sale seem to disappear pretty quickly.

Seriously cool find. And I like the wheels, too.
I just started autocrossing last year (I'm a bored ex-SCCA Improved Touring driver). I was pretty active last year, but I've only run one or two this year. I'll hit another couple once the weather gets cooler. I just can't get out in the heat like I used to do.
Strange thing up here in Bartow, everybody trying to sell a 2nd gen actually has a 3rd gen, and just doesn't know it.

I'd keep rockin' that one, too. Hey, they're all projects in one way or another, ain't they?
You guys are making me miss my cars...
First car ever... Sort of. I drove an 82 Tercel first but had this car sitting in the driveway for a few months while I learned how to replace the clutch. A 1988 Honda Accord DX hatch. This was it's better side. The other side of the car was beat to E36 M3 and the carb gave me no end of trouble, but it was a great car. I still miss it. I've driven older Hondas ever since.
I'll just throw this one in here for a good measure, even though it's not nearly as old. I miss it just as much. 1992 Integra GSR
It is/was.
I totalled it and that was that. Saw it a couple months later, the owner of the shop that it was towed to gave it to his nephew who put some disgusting chrome wheels on it. I've been mourning its loss for years.

Prepare for your own "I want my berkeleying car back" moment.
You guys are making me feel bad about wanting to make one of my pretty clean 89 Accords into a race car. If it were a sedan, I wouldn't care, they're a dime a dozen. This one is a fuel injected coupe. They seem pretty rare, even over on 3geez.
