I never wanted to own my grandfather's masonry tools. I've owned them for a long time. I use them once in a while, too.

A Bobcat/skidsteer.

An uncle of mine is a 62 year old man with a railroad pension... but the whims and desires of a 14 year old. He decides one day to store all the farm equipment and his new hot rod he needs to retrofit an old quonset on the family farm into something better, and this means he buys a bobcat and a lot of concrete and gets to work.

During his setting of the quonset and working on it to actually finish the inside, the bucket is dropped onto his hand by accident and slashes off his ring finger at the knuckle. Quick thinking gets the dumper lifted and he's able to get the finger re-attached, but even after 2 years he can't make a fist and has shooting pains from the digit.

I bought a inner tie rod removal tool. I never knew this was even a thing before i started doing the research on how to swap inner tie rods out on my civic. TBH, at $60 it wasn't the worst thing ever to buy.. I just hate that I have to own this highly specific tool.
