all this and nobody brings up Beach Boys? These songs defined a generation.
1) Shut Down
2) 409
3) Little Duece Coupe
or Springsteen? "I got a 69 Chevy with a 396, Fuelie Heads and a hurst on the floor..."
Racing in the Streets - tragic, but memorable.
Someone please explain how I can possibly be the first to suggest 'Bitchin Camaro' by the Dead Mikmen. Or did I miss that?

The gentleman I bought my second RX-7 from (Denny) had this in frequent rotation in his garage radio.
Call me weird (I am used to it) but my "racing" music is usually not car related. Pantera's "Power Metal" (showing my 80s glam rock vibe), Alstroemeria Records' version of "Bad Apple" (showing my inner weeb).
But car related song?
Out and about, driving late at night, windows down, radio on
Dust In The Wind...all Fiats are dust in the wind...
I used to sing along to that frequently when I was the Fiat Guy in the 1980s.

I count your post as the third for that one, but I agree wholeheartedly.
I don't think it's my favorite, but since this is becoming a great list of car songs, Kiss of Death by Split Lip Rayfield:
Cake - The Distance
Fuel - Metallica
ZZ Top: I'm bad, I'm Nationwide
For those that enjoy Rap, these 2 are classics
Big Tymers : "Still Fly" and "Get Your Roll On"
