My st185 celica all trac is in desperate need of new brake rotors... the only thing is that oem, and brembo oem blanks cost an arm and a leg. Out of which parts stores, nappa, kraggen, carquest, etc offer the best bang for the buck rotors?? also, I just recently (less than 5k miles) replaced my pads. since I dont have the money for new pads, should I scuff up the surface of the pads when installing the new rotors? or is their just no way of using old pads with new rotors?
Parts America (Advance, etc) lists them for $21-$52 front, $18-$42 rear.

It's actually better to use old pads with new rotors to help "break in" the new rotor surface...but yeah scuff them up first.

On that car, you'll be wanting to actually pony up the cash to not get Chinese-cheaply-made replacements from Autozone or the like.
Either get Toyota replacements, or Brembo blanks, or enjoy major warping from your 3400lb celica trying to stop time and time again.
If i can warp Autozone/o'reilly rotors time and time again on my 92 GT stripped down and weighing almost 1000lbs less than your car, think what you would do. With a JDByrider discount, i spend just under $200 at O'reillys to get new rotors. It's MORE than worth the extra money to get some quality rotors.
I would spend the $300 give or take just for the peace of mind.
Parts are expensive for AllTracs/Celicas in general, once you accept that, you'll be a lot happier. :)
Check out 1sttoyotaparts.com, they usually undercut dealer prices by a wide margin, and will probably be your best bet.
1st Toyota has great prices and service. I have also had great success with Rock Auto, and they give you lots of options including great prices on name-brand rotors.

May be worth getting another opinion from them. I'm on both, and they tend to echo the same two places if i remember correctly. I just personally buy Brembos now, although at the moment i'm waiting on development of a cheap BBK based on an STI setup.

Sounds like a plan. I just ordered a CS bumper through them, great site. Undercut my local dealership by about $80, even when including shipping. :)
Now, if i could just manage to find the part numbers for the factory fogs that go with that bumper, i'd be golden. :(

I'd call that an old wives tale. Do any new cars come equipped with used pads, even including race cars? Didn't think so.

Yeah, i was going to try that. I have a 92 GT w/ fogs. I would just rather have the sweet cs squares.
There's two schools of though on the pads.... Personally, if the pads have plenty of life left and no uneven wear, i'd go ahead, as long as you can verify that they won't cut grooves in your rotors. If you're just driving the car non-competitively, then fine.
If you've had the pads for any real amount of time? I'd just suck it up and get new pads at the same time. If you want good on the cheap, then grab some EBCs. I've run green, red, and yellow on my car, and loved them all. Red would be a good match for a non-competitive but still tossed-around alltrac, and they won't break the bank. I got my last set for all four corners for $140.
What is a CS bumper, what did it fit (year, model, "born on date"?) A lamp unit, fog lamp, RH for a 8910-9309 ST185 is a 81211-20150, for example.

I think the part number that you put up is for the "regular" ST185. This bumper came on the ST185RC, CS Edition, and the GRP A. special editions.
I recently started using Centric rotors that I bought from zeckhausenracing. They wound up being cheaper than Brembo blanks (in my Mini) and they look so much nicer. The surface looks properly machines with nice cross hatching vs dull on the Brembos out of the box.

I use RacingBrake rotors on the RX7 which gets tracked but that is a different story.

For JDM, I only have the disk with the 20v loaded, which also includes the ST20# celi and some other weird stuff we've never heard of like the Ipsum and Harrier. My USDM EPC has ST185, but not your part number. I get 52119-20917 for a cover, front bumper, ST185 Wide body.

Yeah, it's not a USDM part. I ran it through the dealer locally here, and they can get me the bumper cover, but can't seem to pull the numbers for the fog lights. I think if i could find a vin for a Grp A, i'd be able to do it, but that's not real easy to do in itself.
I'd never heard of the Centrics until my martial arts/drinking/tracking buddy bought a set for his 350Z. He says they're great quality and they're holding up on the track (aggressive street pads, Porterfield R4-S, IIRC). That Celica looks awesome!
