As far as modded and body kitted FD's go, that one is actually pretty nice. Still greatly appreciate the elegance of the stock form though.
Not holding out for much longevity out of that engine though.

In reply to aircooled :
Funny thing, starting with MY96, they got rid of the five dozen discrete solenoids and 88 vacuum hoses (with specific restrictors in some of them) to control the sequential turbos, and went to a unified control box thing that was much more reliable.
When the hoses on the US models would pop off and cause weird issues, a lot of people at dealerships would shrug and say "Eh, needs an engine, I guess?".
Japan is also weird for reliability. Like, in the US, the Air Separator Tank in the cooling system was so failure prone that there were writeups for eliminating it in the mid-late 90s, and you could soon find aluminum ones for sale. But you'd see Japanese car shows where the AST was almost white with how aged the plastic was, and they don't seem to have issues.
Still wouldn't touch an FD, though
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
I think the non-us cars only had an underfloor cat, not a pre-cat in the engine bay. Getting that extra heat out of there, especially on a rotary, probably did wonders for vacuum hoses and plastic bits longevity.
Yes, yes I do need that.
Can I afford it? Well, no... But I do need it!
And we’ll be seeing this one in the flesh (well, fiberglass) soon.

And you know, there’s nothing wrong with that.
