I've got a Yamaha Blaster. For those who don't know it's a entry level 200cc 2 stroke sport quad. They can be hopped up to make decent power, but not enough really. A decent port job with appropriate carb and pipe will get about 33 hp or so.Quite a few guys have swapped in YZ250 motors, as it seems the rear mount lines up pretty easy, and the rest of course can be fabbed. This will result in about 42-46 hp depending on the year. Makes them pretty fun as they're only a 300lb machine.

Trouble is, I'm having a tough time finding a complete motor. Looking for a '99 or newer. Any idea where I should look or who I should call? Seems ebay has lots of case halves and such, but complete motors seem elusive. It's not like there weren't eleventy billion of these bikes made

Hello to all

Diesel's story actually begins with the invention of the gasoline engine. Nikolaus August Otto had invented and patented the gasoline engine by 1876. This invention used the four-stroke combustion principle, also known as the "Otto Cycle," and it's the basic premise for most car engines today. In its early stage, the gasoline engine wasn't very efficient, and other major methods of transportation such as the steam engine fared poorly as well. Only about 10 percent of the fuel used in these types of engines actually moved a vehicle. The rest of the fuel simply produced useless heat.

I've bought lots of bike stuff from this place, and they sometimes have quad stuff: http://www.ajcyclesalvage.com/

Decent people to deal with, but sometimes they can be a bit pricey. Otherwise wait until somebody hits a tree and pick up the pieces off of ebay or CL.
