For the most part I think people have more or less moved on as much as they can. People went to work and school like any other day, traffic was normal except in the vicinity of WTC for about an hour and a half during the memorial and then it was business as usual. It still remains a big news story that week at least here because there are so many people that were affected by it but its far from the only thing covered that day.
I don't know why but I am glad History Channel runs some of the specials and I even though it bothers my wife I will sit up and watch one while I can't sleep. Good or bad it is a major Event in our history and one that shook and stuck with people not just here but from much of the world. I am often surprised by how many people visiting New York ask about it and want to share their stories of what they were doing. Others have compared it to the Kennedy Assassination of our generation and prior still talk about that every year so I doubt we will stop hearing about 9/11 any time soon.
