I'm looking at purchasing a battery powered grease gun to lube my skidsteer. There's approx 20 zero fittings that need attention every other time I use the machine. Pumping each one of them is getting to be quite a chore and makes for a sore forearm. I'm trying to research which brand to buy, but according to the online reviews all of them have issues so it's tough to tell the good from the bad. I have several 20V DeWalt tools and therefore numerous batteries, so that one is on the top of my list, but has many 1-star reviews. Kobalt would be another choice as I have several 24V batteries from their tools. Last would be a Hercules gun from Harbor Freight. I would need to buy both the tool and battery for one of these, but the prices are all comparable.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these units?
Thanks,
Dan
We use a dewalt at work, it is as good a unit as any we've tried. We run a cartridge every 2 days.
I've used a Milwaukee quite a bit and they're awesome. But another option is to spend a Saturday running lines from some of the grease fittings to group them all on a manifold. Then you can just stand in once place and quickly hit most of them. It doesn't cost much. Just time.
We use Milwaukee at work, overall pretty dependable and when something does go wrong, you can send them in for repair, often under warranty.

Building some buildings that all have large overhead gantry cranes (+/-200ft span, +/-100ton capacity, depending on the building). Other day I was up at the crane rail catwalk marveling at how they've hard-lined all the grease points (and there many) back to a few manifolds that are all accessible from the catwalk. Serviceability was clearly part of their design thinking, which I hope the customer appreciates.
To answer the original question, I see all brands of battery grease guns in use on the job on various pieces of heavy equipment, and to date I've not seen anyone throw one in disgust, or throw one in the trash. So, probably give the DeWalt a shot. Our guy who runs our forklift and skid steer has a DeWalt gun, but I've never seen him grease a single piece of equipment, so I'll not ask his opinion. Don't want to make him lie to me.
