Absolutely ridiculous!! As a retired teacher I can tell you that homophones are the hardest thing for non-English speakers to learn. The idea that the meaning/spelling of a word/sound will vary according to the context of the usage is very difficult to master.

It's probably for the best that they let the teacher go. You can't be to careful nowadays, kids might catch the gay if they don't have good role models.

Why can't we have good, wholesome influences for our children like when we were kids.

May the teacher sue the bejeezus out of that administrator and win. Granted, if said administrator is very connected, it will be business as usual. The good citizens of that town might not even care when/if his name/stupidity gets dragged through the mud.
