Antihero, get on the email for this place (if not already). I did not get home in time to post before they sold out, but they just cleared out of 1000 rnds of .32 ACP for $350 shipped. I bought 1000 rnds of blackout for $440 delivered a month ago. They will spam you, but I doubt you could roll your own for much less.

Hell yes, thank you!
While we're waiting for Dean to tell us about his new AR, anyone get anything cool over the holidays?
Before Christmas, I picked up a S&W M17 .22 with target hammer and trigger to match my M14 in .38. These were S&W's bullseye revolvers, and this one was made ~1970.
We had also gone looking for a .22 for my wife. For many years, she has shot a .22 conversion on her Glock 19, but I wanted her to have something a little nicer with a grip that fit her hand better, had adjustable sights, and was suppressor ready. We took a few of our guns, and went to an indoor range where we could rent a couple others and she shot about 6 different .22s. She ended up liking the Ruger 22/45 the best, so I ordered her a 22/45 Lite, which showed up just before the New Year. She picked the color...

Both of those are some NICE looking 22's! I especially like how your S&W is a swing-out load. I have a Heritage 16", and a Ruger Wrangler (the Wrangler is a sweet shooter), but the single action with the side gate loading is the worst. Definitely want to get a swing-0ut load 22 at some point. The Diamondback Sidekick seems to be the only "cheap" swing-out 22 revolver that I've found. Looks like S&W does make a model 17 in 22lr still, but it's a bit spendy.
Another Question.
Strait up trade a Benelli M4 for a Benelli M2 3 Gun?
Monitarly I am doing better. The M4 is currently selling for about $1,800 whereas the M2 3 gun is closer to $2,400.
I got the M4 from my friend. He needed $$$ to buy out his partner in his business. He offered me the M2 3 gun as a straight-up trade. I like the 3 gun much better. My friend wants it back as it has sentimental value to him (I knew this when I got it and told him that if I was to sell it I would give him first refusal.
SO make the trade? The M4 is just so cool. It is a video game gun and it is a great shooter but DAM is it heavy. The 3 gun is so much lighter and has no noticeable difference in recoil. I think this is due to it having a different action. It feels almost surgical. It is so light and fast. As a trap gun, I think it would be an absolute blast to shoot.
What would you do?
1. I would go for the gun that I like better.
2. If a friend is trying to get his old gun back, and offering a higher value gun as trade, and I like the higher value gun better, I would trade and throw some cash my friend's way. Meet halfway in difference or what the extra was worth to me or whatever I could float in a friendly manner.
3. Regardless, treat your friend how you would want to be treated if the roles were reversed.
Oh and the new rifle is a LMT MARS-H It is a sub-MOA rifle. The cool part is that it has the ability to easily interchange barrels and swap between 6.5CM and 308/7.62. The barrels interchange does not change zero. I don't know how they managed this. I tested this on a different rife that I got to shoot late in the summer. The one I got has both a 22" 65CM barrel and a 12.5 barrel in 308/7.62.
I don't know if I am going to put a 4" brake/devise on the 12.5 or just SBR the lower. I ended up getting a DMR (what I was looking for) that with two bolts I can change to a Battle rifle.
These are used by the British in slightly different configurations. I think with 7.62 NATO.
The fit and finish on this is absolutely amazing. I have not shot this yet. I did shoot another one at a range in NH late in the summer and all of a sudden with the 6.5 and the long barrel shooting out to 1000 yards becomes so much easier and so much fun.

Oh, I forgot my friend is an FFL so I am sure he got the M2 at FFL pricing not retail so the difference to him will be almost nothing.

Nice!
I shot an LMT .308 at the range last weekend that belonged to one of the other RSOs. Never touched the gun before and got a 1st round hit @ 400 and 2nd round hit at 500 on 8" steel. And it was blowing ~20mph. Without the wind the 500 would have been an easy 1st round hit. Obviously he had his dope worked out, but it was definitely a shooter.
Be careful having that short upper around. The ATF has shafted people for constructive possession of an SBR for having short uppers if they didn't have a legal lower it could go on...
Anyone have any recommendations for a handgun safe to keep by the bed? Have a safe for the long guns and extra pistols, but I want something that I can access more easily than down the hall for the main safe.
In reply to Rodan :
I thought I posted this yesterday but yes the ATF has been sticky about these things. That is why the 12.5 barrel is not in my possession. It is still with my friend who is an FFL at his shop. I am very careful to not even get close to the gray areas of the firearms world. I am thinking of registering the lower as an SBR. The other option is to get a 4" brake/muzzle devise but the ones I have seen all really look weird and at that point I should just get another barrel. Maybe a 14.5 and then pin and weld a device to get it over the 16" threshold. BUT replacement barrels are $700-$900. It would be a bit of a hassle and $200 for the tax stamp to go the SBR route but it is the most economical.

I like this one, that's what I use

I forgot to mention last night the one drawback of an SBR is you need to file paperwork with the ATF to cross state lines with it. Not a big deal if you don't plan to take it with you anywhere, but a PITA if you do. Suppressors and AOWs don't have that restriction.
This is the 6.5 Bergara I mentioned last night:
In reply to dean1484 :
I recently submitted a form 1 for converting a gun I own to SBS. Approval only took a few weeks and a local shop will laser engrave for $45. SBR is cheaper than buying a 4" brake and having someone else pin and weld. Not saying you can't pin and weld, yourself, just comparing costs and times.
In reply to Rodan :
That is really nice!!!
If I could just register the barrel that would solve a bunch of problems as I would only really want to take it out of state to go to the Sig Experience Center in NH where they have a 1,000 Yard Range. I would only be using the 6.5 CM barrel there.
After thinking about it more I may just get a 2nd barrel in 308 that is 16". I would then sell the short barrel. I would take a bit of a hit on it but it seems like the smarter thing to do.
I just found out Paul Harrell, who runs a firearms Youtube channel, is probably not long for the world.

Why? I watch his stuff sometimes. Never Mind google answered things
Thread needs a bump...
Loaded some 6.5CM today. Tedious to hand measure each load, but if you want precision, that's how it's done.
Also picked up a grail gun recently... Colt 1911 Government, made the year I was born (1967). Took a long time to find one that was unmolested and in near NIB condition, at a price I was willing to pay, but the stars finally aligned.
I also found a rifle that I have been looking for.
A Sig 556 NATO. It is a Gen 2 Gen 1's are crazy money.
Photos will be coming later. I traded a WAZR I had that was redundant in my collection and some cash for it. A good deal all around.
In reply to Rodan :
That's nice. A friend has a nice 1911, although not a ex-military/govt. model. I was surprised at how nice it was to shoot. Softer recoil than I expected. Definitely on the "want" list.
I was in my closet last night and found 6 boxes of 7.62x39. I have no recollection of when I bought them...
