I found one of these dead in the road in front of my house today.
It was a good learning opportunity for my kids (age 4 and 8) to see the camouflage pattern in some dead leaves and also to reinforce why I want them to stay away from the rock heap and wood pile.

I found a live one between my feet last year while working the yard. I missed stepping on it by maybe an inch. I carefully relocated it deeper into the woods.
