Think of it like like 2 SOHC engines sharing a cyl head. Each side of the engine has 2 valves, one intake and one exhaust, operated by a single cam. So you have one intake and one exhaust controlled by each cam on each side of that head. Still 4V, but not like we're used to. Extremely simple and ingenious.

Great article on it.

EDIT: Looks like I got beat twice. LOL

what the hell is that!?!? Did they put the cam in backwards? Or is that a V8 I don't recongnize?

It's a nailhead Buick setup with reverse flow heads. Intake is being forced thought what was the exhaust ports via crank snout driven blower. Exhaust out the intake ports.

This is how it was originally intended to work:

This thing is Outstanding. I'm not sure If I want this or this exact thing in a 4 door 8' bed truck more but either way I would love to have something like this to tow/go to the depot with.. Maybe not that extreme but a bagged Chevy of that generation looks nice.
No, there is absoluty nothing redeming about that vehicle in any way. It's E36 M3 like this that causes people to form 'associations' to keep this junk out of where ever I want to live!

That thing is awesome.

+1. I'd have gone with different wheels (black centerline type wheels would look tough imo,) but I get the idea. I also wouldn't have triple double parked it.

An explanation is necessary, because this motor makes ZERO sense to me. Has it somehow split the exhaust valves so that 4 valves feed the left side, and 4 valve feed the right side?

OK, now I get the intake/exhaust ports, but can someone explain to me how the cams are getting spun? It does not appear that the cam belt is connected to the crank...

Um, it isn't connected. There's a drive gear and the lower half of the belt missing because its a display model. That's why it looks so pretty...

Also, he has this racetrack in his front yard. This guy's life does not suck.

It is SO MUCH BETTER! The factory ones look like APC crap.

Unfortunately, Jon claims there are only something like three sets of these extant. I'm not sure if they're modified NC lights or if some craftsman in a tiny shop in Japan carefully crafted them from scratch, but just before he put them on his car I was commenting that the NC really needs aftermarket lights that look like NA ones.
