Time for a pit stop.

I need to quit berking around with trucks and build my racecar.

If I owned a pool that would be a definite gotta have. I went to dump garbage at the convenience center on Sat and the biggest American cockroach I’ve ever seen plopped out of the trash can.
When I met my wife there was a 1938 LaSalle hearse at her grandmother's farm. Granny died, lawyers and cops involved, it wasn't pretty. Trish heard through a cousin that all the cars are still there, just further back. She's going up soon for a HS reunion, lets ask someone....
In reply to Duke :
Vulcan and an English Electric Lightning. Damn I loved lightnings as a kid, but man oh man were they loud, but what a spectical on full afclimb. It just looked like an 8 year olds idea of what a fighter should look like.
Yeah, both are immensely cool aircraft.
My father was in the USAF in the early '50s stationed at several bases in the Gulf of Mexico. My mother used to tell a story of sitting on the beach off the end of a runway, and getting the wits scared out of her when a flight of RCAF EE Canberras took off from behind her, right over her head.
And because there was way too much cool in the last few posts, here is something utterly uncool. I didn't think it was possible for these to get uglier. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED:
Lightning? That's not a fighter....
...now that's a fighter!
Realistically very similar planes. All motor and climb and NO range.

That's not a fighter, that was a rocket with some dumpy wings attached. It flew like a rocket and had a safety record to match. Despite it's wannabe rocket looks and flight characteristics it only had a ceiling of 50 thousand feet, where the the Lightning ceiling was never officially released. A Lightning did intercept the supposedly un-interceptable U2 and there are reports they were flown as high as 88 thousand feet.
