Since there are some other old times pics here. Me and my cousins, circa 1977 when grandpa expected the family to get together every year and we had t-shirts made up for the gathering.
someone decided to "military up" the place. So now our hospital has this parked out front. (Not a tank)

M109 Howitzer. A mobile 155 mm gun.
I've seen several parked around for various military days. Pretty dang impressive up close.
Speaking of military days...in the day.
This pulled up to the pier at school at one point my senior year and stayed for a few days.
USS Jack Williams, Oliver Hazard Perry class fast frigate. This was waaaaay before the first Gulf War nevermind 9/11. We were able to go on board and had access pretty much everywhere on the ship. I spent a fair amount of time in the engine room talking with the watch standers. Cool stuff, 2 x General Electric LM2500 gas turbines geared to a single shaft with a controllable pitch screw. 41,000 shaft horsepower at the ready, the guys said if needed in emergency conditions she could go from cold engines to underway and making turns in something like 90 seconds. Also because CP propeller you don't need to stop the shaft and reverse it to back down. They could go from full ahead to dead stop in something like 3 ship lengths, sounds sporty! Top speed was "classified" but they told us at flank speed the roostertail in the wake behind the ship was higher than the helicopter hanger. They had bumper stickers on the main engine control console that said "frigate sailors get by with one good screw".
Transferred to Bahrain in 1996 and still in service.
Yep, M-109 Paladin, called a self propelled howitzer; is it a tank? Dunno. Lets make sure you know where your digits are at all times!
I know this meme has been around for ages, but I have an "NA" Miata (in black) and this T-shirt (same colors as below), and like both:
