Cars is a really good movie. It's not the best of the Pixar lot (I give that credit to Wall-E), but it's a really fun movie that has a ton of references for the gear heads in the crowd.
I liked Wall-E but the super over the top eco message nearly ruined it for me.
Cars 2, can't wait!
Does anybody know what Michael Schumacher says in Italian in "Cars"? I "interpreted" it as something along the lines of, "Your friend looks like he's seen a ghost"

Cars 2?
Hell, I think we should all go together!
Everyone should head out here and we could all watch it at the drive in. Yes this town still has an old school drive in that is open every Spring and Summer showing double features on the weekends for less than the price of 2 people catching a matinee at a regular theater. We could just take it over the weekend Cars is showing.
It's going to be great. The trailer was just enjoyable on its own.
I wonder what new characters will be my new favorites to collect when they come out in die cast.

When Mia and Tia popped their headlights at McQueen and his number was written on them - that just about killed me in the original. I'm not sure my 3-year-old nephew picked up on that.
I just liked the fact that they're Miatas. And they're girls. Which I of course pointed out to my dad, who drives a '99 Miata. Get it...girl car...anyone? Ok, I'll stop talking now.

I wonder if the Haydens, Kaydens and Braydens of the world will be able to process the plot and all of the action going on there. I suppose they will after the billionth time watching it in the car.
I'm sure it'll be brilliant, though...
I was impressed with Pixar years ago when I was flipping through the channels and Toy Story happened to be on. It was the scene where Woody and Buzz fight then stow away on a little pizza planet delivery truck. When they show the under carriage of the cab-over big truck I was shocked to see brake chambers, s-cams and, basically a complete truck chassis. I've been a fan ever since... and the kids are huge Cars, Wall-E, Nemo and Toy Story fans as well.

According to the director, he never intended an eco message. That's what he says, anyway.
Personally, I saw it more as the perils of unfettered consumerism rather than an environmentalist message, but apparently I'm wrong, too.
I think we infer more than it really implies.
I thought I was finally being recognized for my solid work ethic and dedication to my job.
