There's towing, and there's vehicle transport. Not too many cars that get towed are getting pampered.

The sneaky ones are running gas engined trucks so they can sneak up on you easier.

I was a recovery agent for a short period of time in the late aughts. I can assure you, the job is a lot more mundane than you'd think it would be.

We have a company that leases property from us in Toledo. They have a couple generic sedans that drive around with plate scanners and put gps markers on cars. After that it is grab it when you can reach it. They told me about the new gas truck when a guy came to reclaim his car and wondered how they "got him". "I sleep in the front room and can hear the truck coming, I run out and drive away"

The hydraulic, semi-automated wheel lift setup that almost everyone uses now used to be called the repo option.
