Quitters!!!
dodge omni for sale.. needs work
I had close calls with the NSX, and Eascoastmojo's Celica. Two unfinished projects is too many. I don't even remember which Challenge I was supposed to bring the rusteevuh to.
I bought two trucks this month...one for a flip and one to use as parts for the restoration of my 75 Chevy. I also bought another suburban last month for a driver/dirtbike hauler.
Last August was the last time I owned a project car, and it fought me too hard, so I gave in, pulled off some useful stuff, and scrapped it.
I was clean til the other week. Got my son a Power Wheels Jeep. Now I'm on a whole different level of insanity. I can justify just about ANYTHING now because it is "for the kids", or so my brain says. I have three Craigslist RSS feeds set up to keep me on top of possible cheap Power Wheels scores. Parts are cheap, easily swapped, and abundant.
for one of the first times in many many years, every vehicle I currently own is in running turn key condition (three). I sold off a truck, motorcycle, and non-running VW Rabbit truck project in the last year. Sold/scrapped off a lot of junk/parts, and have tried to keep piles to a minimum. I've been clean going on 10 months now. New job, long hours, long commute, and a toddler keep my time to minimum.
I have a strong urge to find a new cheap driver for my wife to get rid of our one car payment though, so I'm hunting for a relatively nice modern <10 year old car in need of a motor/trans/timing belt popper, etc. I probably won't make it through the year without dragging home something if I find the right deal. I've done a few 20V VW rebuilds, so if I can find a nice Passat/A4 with heated seats/etc. that dropped a timing belt hopefully I can put her in that.
I haven't bought a vehicle since my Crown Vic 7 years ago. My wife got her Armada 3 years ago and the daughter just got her Focus, but I don't count those as they are clearly marked "NOT MINE". I need a race car...

Lol, good luck with that.

yeah, more power to you on that one. We went from a driver for the wife to a brand new car with all the extended warranty we could get lol. I drive beaters, but not her....never again.
Whenever her car broke down, not only was it an inconvenience for her, but I had to drop whatever I was doing at the time and fix it.....and it broke a lot.
11 months since I bought the Subaru rallycrosser/winter beater.
But I've been looking for something to build into an M2 class beast. Oh, and I kind of miss my old motor scooter.
Its a sickness.
I just bought a tow vehicle today. It is for my boat.
I've got to weld in a new catalytic converter, fix the seats and do some other stuff.
I know once I've got that sorted out, I'm going to use it to haul cars, though.
it's been just a hair over 24 hours for me... two months before that, one before that, one and a half before that... i'm a mess. i can't stay clean.
Too long...
I just decided I need an ACVW, craigslist is looking pretty thin in that department though.
I've not bought anything since last November when I bought my Protegé and MX-3. I'm just about ready to scrap what's left of the MX-3, then its on to some other projects that I've neglected.
We'll see how much longer I make it...

Hi EastCoastMojo,
I like your new Avatar…I heard a news teaser about Amelia a few weeks; something along the lines of “Amelia still missing and presumed dead – news at 10:00”.
I've been clean near 18 months, but as I finished the Fiat recently and literally am just down to 'maintenance' clean-up items I'm hankering for a fix again.
My buddy's talking me into welding school which may be enough to hold me over for a bit, starting to get restless though....
Bought a 53 Studebaker truck last month and a Miata on Sunday.
Sold one car last month and have another on the market.
Its been a slow start to the year as far as Im concerned :)
I haven't bought any projects or flips in, uhhhh, 10 yrs, maybe longer. I've only bought "new" vehicles to replace others as DD's. Doesn't mean I don't keep looking for one...
There is a '67 Cougar and a '73 Duster here in town both of which are trying to call my name. Thank god I am broke right now. There is also an '89 Iroc Z in all black that would be fun...
The scary thing is even with 3 Cutlasses, the Invicta, a Taurus, a Ram 1500 and a Tacoma we still have plenty of room for more cars here.
Hi everybody.
Today I think I broke my 6 month pledge. Yet another PPI inspection that I have to wait for but its a dooze.
Two years, five months. Not bad for a free car, this time around. I've been haunting Craigslist in search of a halved Challenge budget daily... the market is a dire wasteland, it looks like the classifieds you'd post on the interoffice cork board at a Detroit scrapyard men's bathroom.
"1989 Honda Accored. 314000K miels. Hit reel bad in rear, quartar russt, browken winsheeld, sumone stol my tiers an radeo, auto trans need work, missing rugs, oyl leeks, grate car for nu driver, nu air freshers include. $7000"
