You can usually get a roller sans drivetrain for pretty cheap (compared to a door car)

I just looked through a a few pages of adds and didn't see anything less than $4500. Are they a lot cheaper than and I'm looking in the wrong place or is that about the bottom?

Would they fit on a pallet? Maybe fastenal ship would work?

Me too, so much I just checked out racing junk. Wow if they are actually getting that much for them I guess I'll never get one
I guarantee you own at least one vehicle you can drag race. I remember one guy that used to show up every single Saturday to race street stock class with his all stock late 90s grand am. Another team would do the "dial in for dollars" race in their clapped out tow van dialed in at 19.00. Just take whatever vehicle you think will survive a half dozen runs and go to a t-n-t this spring and see if you even like it. I personally love the vibe in the pits of a small time drag strip, but it's not for every one.

You probably are right although right now all I can think of is running down the strip and trying something else to go faster on the next pass.
Funny, only once in my life did I bother to go drag racing and never thought of doing it until this showed up.

I used to get the same pleasure out of regional sports car races at Elkhart Lake. Then I chased the big boys doing vintage sports car races all over the country.
Is it the freedom small time offers? The comradery? My hands messaging the parts to get a little more out of them?

There was a guy who used to clean up with an automatic Honda CVCC. 22 second dial in but very very consistent.

Thats about right. A 7.50 stamped cage installed into an empty chassis with literally nothing else costs about that.

My friend had never drag raced before, let alone bracket-raced. Went to a test-n-tune night and came in second in a stock automatic Mazda3. The guy that won was racing a stock Isuzu I-290. All the guys in the hardcore drag cars went out in about the first round because they were spotting them half the track and then would either get nervous and redlight or would be trying so hard to catch them that they would run it out the back door and break out.
