Just wondering if you got to choose, who do you think would do well?
Former drivers like Speed or Andretti? A new comers like Stewart... Danica?
Prototype drivers from Rolex/ALMS?
a 16yr old in a shifter cart?
Think they would have a chance? Be held back by a new team/car or inferior car? or... politics?
I much prefer Rahal over Andretti...
That said, I would choose Kyle Busch.
a 16yr old in a shifter cart?

The team has already announced Pechito Lopez as a driver. He may have a lot of talent, but hasn't raced a formula car for several years; he does bring millions along with him though.
I'd love the see Summerton in the team, but it appears USF1 prefers drivers with a lot of money for the moment.
For now, I'll be happy if they just make the grid and don't embarrass themselves.

Can Tony Stewart still fit in an F1 car? Since he now owns his own team it will never happen, but Smoke can drive.

Not my favorite personality at all, but Jeff Gordon was pretty fast right away when he got into JPM's F1 car back a few years ago for the "Tradin' Paint" stunt at IMS. I don't think The Shrub would do well in F1, there's no bumper or fenders to punt other drivers out of the way with.
Well, um, me of course. It seems like a bit of a dumb question when I'm available...
Jimminy Johnson would probably be decent if he weren't busy being a brazillionare and winning the race for the chase for the cup for the thing four years on the trot.

Jason Lisner and keep the rich Argentinian for the other slot.
EDITED to change Brazillian to the correct Argentinian.
Kyle Busch. Of the people who can get in anything and be fast he's the smallest and hasn't taken a hard enough hit to put any fear in him. I would like a shot but while I have the height of a formula car driver, I have the weight of an enitre podium.

You'd prefer an autocrosser over a guy with Indy Lights, FAtlantic, A1GP, and F3 experience - like Summerton?
I've dodged cones for over twenty years and love it, but I want a driver with formula car experience and has chosen to race in Europe as a part of USF1.
Scott Speed, since he's been there before and can actually find the grid..and either Ryan Hunter-Reay or A.J. Allmendinger for the other seat.
Ryan & AJ were the last couple of Americans who won races before the real Indycars died..if they could wrestle those monsters around in the front of that field, they could go F1 with a smaller learning curve.

Dammit oldsaw...you made me make another "+1" post!!
Ryan/A.J. sounds like it.
Pechito Lopez- Who is he? he def. in for USF1?
In reply to oldsaw:
I'd prefer anyone who is either wealthy enough or hungry enough to do it for free since I would like to see USF1 survive and it seems they are going to have a tough time of it money wise unless Mr. Youtube is willing to keep throwing money into the pot.
Any established racer isn't going to work for free, especially a big-bucks NASCAR driver. They also would have to worry about their results and would not want to be embarrassed by finishing last. Need some young talent without that type of baggage. Just finishing races will be a victory for USF1 this yearm assuming they finish their car and even make the grid.
I have to admit I don't know Summerton. If he is young, hungry, talented and will work for free put him in the seat.
I saw some incredible kids (i.e. 14-17 yr. olds) racing in the Skip Barber series last summer. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them in the hunt a couple of years from now.
USF1 is apparently going to be missing the first couple of races. So, no pre-season testing, missing the first couple of races. Still have not shown a car, and only have one driver....
where is this team again?
Juan Pablo Montoya has NASCAR fans now and has won in everything, including F1. He has had and won epic battles with Schumacher. He would have been champion if Ferrari wasn't so damn good during that era. I'd beg him to drive the car.
Guys in cars with fenders don't adapt easily to 800hp 1000lb karts and the roundy-round types would need years in the gym to handle 5Gs under braking for a whole hour. Maybe some of the Indy guys could adapt but I can remember Michael Andretti's abysmal failure and he was the best that series had at the time.
