My daughter is piss ed that the "snow " we got yesterday was mostly ice flakes. She couldn't make a snowman.

7am here in the DC/MD area and still falling.. Snow is strongy indicating on the GRM snow gauge (Answer is Miata), Somehow I dont think I am getting out soon. I dug my way out to the car and got pooped, turning around for a hot toddy seems like a better option.
*note that we also have wind, so the roof of the car is no indication. I can see a park bench out the back window of my apartment, the seat area of it is under snow right now, back still visible.
We are all going to die now. There will be thousands of crashes, all food will be gone, the power will fail, millions without water, or heat, or oxygen. It is the end of times and we will all suffer the consequences.
Needless to say, it almost never snows here.
Measured 13" at 8 this morning and still snowing heavily. Gonna measure again at 9 to get a snowfall rate. Looks like we're on track for a top 5 all time snowfall!

When I first moved down here from Chicago I found the same thing. 1" of snow shuts everything down. People from here are afraid of it. The problem here in DFW is the freezing rain. Most people down here cannot handle it. I would rather have snow myself, but, I know I can drive on ice if I have to.
Still snowing at an incredible rate. About 23" on the ground last I checked. The Cherokee has forever earned my respect and admiration today, even on the POS tires it currently wears. Busted a trail down my 3/8 mile gravel driveway through 20+ inches of unplowed snow, pushing a pile that was up over the hood.
Check out the snow compared to this morning:

an update:
I'm also in the DC area and my '69 Beetle in the driveway is nothing more than a slight lump in the snow.
Stopped snowing here overnight. We got about a foot of snow total. I'm sending children out to shovel snow for the elderly lady across the street but otherwise it's a bloody Mary morning followed by a languid afternoon of doing very little.
Happy Saturday Y'all!!
At noonish the snow was just barely higher than my snowblower opening (19.5"), and it has been snowing hard all day since. We will probably end up around 30" here in Berks county, PA. Love my 1962 Ariens snowblower with harbor freight 212cc motor!
Snow started around 2:00 or so. The real stuff started around 3:00 or so and it is that really fine power. My son had a friend over so after we took him home I introduced my son to parking lot hooning. At first he was nervous but is turned in to "do it again" and uncontrolled laughter.
Yep. . . . I have done my parenting duty's for the weekend.

And 7pm...
What Miata?
I'm just west of Gettysburg Pa and it looks like it will be in the 3'+ range when it finally stops snowing tonight. I have one of my driveways cleared (kinda), it's 100'x24'. The snow is piled so high that the snow blower can't throw high enough to clear the pile anymore.

Using my neighbors '80s simplicity...18" when i started. By the time i was done we were up to 24" and 30-36 at drifts and driveway entrances. Not fun. Blower is 20" tall. Oh and it blew the carb bowl gasket halfway through so i had to steal the old one off my non running blower. I...should...fix that.
But i was impressed that 1980 and 2010 had the same carburetor and tecumseh engine.
So, as of 7am Sunday I70 is CLOSED from 695 to 81 and I270 is closed its whole length.
My wife is stranded in a hotel north of Baltimore with some friends and really wants to get home
