Damn. THIS^^^^^

I am not a believer in god. I would like to believe that even if I wasn't a friend of Paul's, I wouldn't E36 M3 on his face for posting something that wasn't intended to insult anyone or make them feel bad.

I've not seen a ton of preachy religious people on this board. Not saying it's never happened. I HAVE seen a ton of preachy anti-god/religion/whatever stuff.

Whether Paul was a good guy or not, I think it's clear that the intent of his post wasn't to be a dick. So maybe you guys should return the favor, and not be dicks yourselves.

"It's easy to judge someone's actions. It's almost impossible to judge someone's intentions."

Heard that in church once. ;)

EDIT: ...not that there hasn't been some intelligent and thoughtful discussion...not much, but some.

I'm not sure why either of you have a bug up yer arses when SVReX doesn't seem to at all. I don't see any hatred either. Just a bunch of folks with different ideas about god posting up some quotes and then going on about it a little. It is a forum - when someone posts I kinda figure a discussion is supposed to follow and if they knew where it was going when they did... would be kinda pointless to post it. No?

Either way, I learned a new word today from the Annoying Orange that I think applies here. "Chillax Homies".

Your car sucks! Who the berkeley buys old Datsuns anyway? People who couldn't find a good classic BMW, that's who.

I don't understand this (mis?) conception many people (atheists) have about a vengeful God.. Or whatever... This idea is in this thread several times, even after Svrex's post... Like this.

Honestly I dunno where this comes from.. I am a Church hopper of the best/worst kind... I have traveled to many many different churches and this doctrine that God actually intervenes and does something to punish those who don't follow is absorb to me..

Maybe it's a regional thing? Growing up in the South, I hardly ever heard anything else. I was asking my daughter & soon to be SIL about the rise in disbelief among young people these days, and they both mentioned it. Perhaps because folks holding that belief are the only ones they've ever seen in media?

ronholm wrote: The "God is Love" style of theology just seem much more prevalent to me these days... I think this vengeful God idea is used more in these types of forum discussions as a strawman than it is practiced in churches... but hey... I have been wrong before..

You could be right..I haven't been to a church service in more than thirty years. My research (LOL) certainly isn't current.

not frequently, but I do have a couple albums there from early in the build. There's more traffic, ideas and answers for my silly questions in GRM-land, so I have not been over to the metalshaper nerds in quite a while. They also have a special brand of snobbery where you must buy a special oak mallet from XYZ instead of making your own
