Plastic battery dish FTW!

You can buy them if the car didn't come with one.

914.

It took 39 years to get here, I'm good for another 20 anyway.

I think that is the least rusty 914 battery tray I have ever seen.

As long as you've got the money to spend frivolously, why not? Personally, I think you could have cleaned that one up and put some POR-15 on it and called it good.

Just kidding! I need to get one for my '85 Chevy C-30, but it's a heck of lot better than yours!

Reminds me of time spent in the 'hell hole' on mine. Lest anyone think the Germans are really smart, the EFI computer resides just forward of and under that battery box.

An acquaintance had a 914 way back when, the battery leaked acid onto/into the ECU and caused the thing to start by itself in his driveway. It chugged backwards into the street (he had left it in reverse) and then caught fire.

914? Disintegrated battery tray? You don't say!

Everything else is fine. I replaced the factory torsion bars with little pistons, the metal was not rusted but twisted all out of shape!

Silly cars.
