Well I'll just stop posting thoughtful things then.

Seriously dude. They are now paying attention to how much of the company's time you're stealing. Try being productive from now on if you're not supposed to be surfing the internet.

It's my companies policy that it is ok to surf on lunch and breaks. I spend about 12 hours or more at work per day. If I don't surf at work, I don't surf as I'm taking care of the kids when I'm at home, or fixing something or doing more work or on the phone with customers in Asia. Blah blah blah. Like you care

Well, if you're only surfing while on breaks, why are they filtering content?

because it's not your computer. It's theirs.

I'd love to think that I didn't surf at work. Fact is, when you're in a soul suck office job, it's hard to be on 8-10 hours a day. Sometimes I go to work, and just like, zone out for the first three hours.

Watchin' my cornhole.

Im at work now, but we came to a mutual agreement, I stay in here @ the computer surfing the web so I can take care of orders quicker, or I'll hang out on smoke breaks away from the computer....they chose option 1, with the stipulation of no pron....

For a variety of reasons, not the least of which being that a senior GRM staff member is a competitive shooter, I seriously hope filters or content bans aren't considered in this case.

The no-reading-about-guns-in-the-workplace rule is insultingly asinine.

Because watching porn in the office, even while on break is still inappropriate?

Before we get all "Merica!!" here, remember, you do NOT have freedom of speech / expression in the workplace.

Well, you do, but don't expect to be employed long if you decide to press the point.

It's nice to be the only one who can monitor internet access at work.

Ask the guy I just had to suspend for looking at images of fellatio at work. He brought the images in on a thumb drive and thought he was slick. A week of no pay should fix his wagon.

I do have the choice and ability to not go into the off topic forum. I'd rather not as it is a fun place, but I don't really surf much anymore period. Not much lost I guess.

I'm only posting today because I took a day off to be with the kids. They are sleeping now. Gotta love naps.

I'm certainly not one to stand on a high horse about surfing at work, but when I do it, I do it with the full knowledge that I'm doing it on a computer and a network owned by the company, that they can and do monitor everything I look at, and can revoke the privilege of internet access at any time. And I surf accordingly.

Anybody that would go to those lengths just to be able to see pron at work is either addicted to the stuff (yes, I hear that's a real thing) or is so stupid that I'd question whether or not I'd want him as an employee. He can't wait till he gets home? Crikey......

That's kinda the point. Because of the amount, frequency, and ambiguity of fire arm related posts on GRM and due to my works filtering and monitoring system and despite the fact that I am using approved times to surf GRM has become an unsafe site to surf at my work.

Don't get me started about my workforce. One of the guys just took a retirement package at work because he is going to jail. He's going to jail because he pulled a gun on someone. Not supposed to have a gun cause he's a convicted felon. His crime. Raping his 6 year old niece. Ohh and he's like 50 or so. Well into the should have known better phase of his life.

Our work filtered gun sites (as well as many other categories) , but they are getting though as of right now. Web boards also were filtered although GRM sipped through.

Maybe this could turn into the gun version of "Can we please stop hotlinking pics?" and keep all of the gun related stuff in this thread.

can we then start hotlinking guns and gun related things? Tactical M4 battle mug. Be careful if you attach a lazer sight. The increased coffee-mug-to-mouth accuracy may be hampered by having the lazer blind you en-route.

Edit: Can you attach a bayonet? Short answer: yes, but don't. trust me.

Apparently our web filter pics up on thread titles and that plus the two gun threads I've accidentally clicked on due to unexpected thread content have nearly gotten GRM added to the blocked category of guns and ammo. There are plenty of places on the internet to discuss all things 2nd amendment can we keep GRM safe from this? Until I see a decrease in these posts I am forced to use my phone for all GRM surfing as I don't want to get it blocked at work in case it improves. While I'm at it can we be a little beter about what we hotlink and from where into threads other than the hotlink thread. I know not to click on it and the good god thread at work but I assume others to be safe. Insert I couldn't love GRM more mene here.

Why don't you try telling them: "berkeley You."
