Lately we've been debating whether or not we wanted to swap our Jetta out for something more fuel efficient. After discovering my van had low compression in a cylinder about a week ago we decided to replace it and keep the Jetta.
About 4 am today the Jetta decision was reversed for us:
Some ditzy girl blew a stop sign and slammed right into me. Luckily the wife and kid weren't with me and i came out ok.
Looks like we're shopping for two cars now....
Bummer, dude. Glad you're ok. Was she insured?
Also, what's the white station wagon with the GRM sticker? Corolla? Looks cool!
That'll buff out (someone had to say it).
Seriously though accidents, even when not your fault, are such a pain. I hope you get a big insurance check for it.
It's actually a Datsun 510 wagon back there. It'll be for sale as soon as the title gets straightened out (it's my brother's, who's currently out of country).
Luckily she was insured ,which was a legitimate concern of mine considering the area of town the accident happened.
So when insurance checks it out what price (assuming they use kbb?) do they use to determine whether or not it's totaled, private sale or dealer? Pretty sure it's totaled no matter what price they use but just curious. When i was rear ended in my $500 MR2 a couple years back they cut me a check for $1100 and let me keep the car, which seemed odd.
Unfortunately i have to wait "3-5 business days" before i get her insurance info from the accident report. I was going to get it on the spot but the officer told me i didn't need to......
