Not a deal breaker - the thing I like most about my 37 is that is is really light and has a super-smooth trigger pull so it makes me look almost competent when re-aiming to hit multiple targets (english skeet... my local club has an awesome league which I infrequent to make myelf feel terrible about my skills).
I rarely have a use for slamfire.

One of my high school friends had one. We used to tease him that a Browning was better.

Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. The FNH 1902 wasn't as good as the colt 1903 pocket hammerless......browning designed that and by using lessons learned from it, the 1911 thereafter.

That's partly due to the "you're either with us or against us" attitude that's been permeating Washington for the last few cycles. Sprinkle in a little "for the children" and "turrusts" and anyone speaking out against the .gov is a terrible terrible person.
Luckily for me, I already know I'm a terrible terrible person so I'm good to go.

I worked for Remington for one summer in college. I did barrel manufacturing, metallogrpahic work, and some r&d. In their r&d labs were Stacks of store bought Brownings in various states of repair. So, why buy the imposter. Get a browning.
Can I get a hand here fellas? I have a family member (you know, the one that everybody has, who's always right, especially about his thrice-recalled POS Toyota) that was all over me on gun control. He wants to outlaw all semi-automatics, thinks that magazines over 7 rounds should be illegal, wants all guns and owners licensed and registered, and wants to ban all "assault weapons" and thinks that any large caliber gun has to have it's "reason" given to the government (in other words, I can't own an AR-15 unless I'm a professional sport shooter, I can't own an elk gun unless I hunt elk, etc).
I tried to reel him back in (Virginia Tech was the deadliest and handguns only, no such thing as an "assault weapon", Sandy Hook left the .223 in the trunk, why do you own a car that can go 71MPH?, etc, etc) but no dice. He's leaning on about the most blatantly lying "info" I've ever seen.
I need real, actual, honest facts and studies to give him. I tried to tell him about the UK's violent crime increase for example. Any links you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
And for full disclosure, he owns a pistol and keeps it at his house. I don't own any guns, but most of my family does. Expert marksman badges when I was in the military, too, BTW.

With some people, you just cannot change what they believe in. I'd just not discuss it with them, and if ever asked why, state "If I don't believe you can carry on an intelligent discussion, I won't discuss it"

Isn't it funny how when you are trained properly how to use a weapon, you respect them more.
Other than that, all I can add for your discussion (with an obviously ignorant family member who is pulling news headlines out for his debate) is that a .223/5.56 round is not really a big round as has probably been brought up hear numerous times.
Also, maybe he should only be able to speak when the government gives him the okay. Also, maybe the government can come through his house with no warrant or probable cause just because they want to.

No you don't. Just ask him if he was in the mall with the wife and kids and someone starting shooting would he really want that person to be the only person in the mall with a weapon?
If he says yes, say, Reeealy? Then call him a damn fool just repeating E36 M3 he heard on The View and talk to someone with more sense.
On a total side note, because I do not want to start another thread:
Any suggestions on where to buy slightly uncommon sized ammunition, specifically .22 WRF (Winchester Rim Fire). Took possession of a great old pump action plinking/varmint rifle that used to be my grandmothers. SWMBO absolutely loved shooting it. .22WRF is not a common round though.
Well you guys know I really like a good debate, but more to the point, MIL is sick of his yapping. I could win some real brownie points here.

Initially reports said that the rifle was in the trunk, and not used in the shooting. Later, we heard that the long gun in the trunk was a shotgun, and the rifle was the primary murder weapon, being used until it stovepiped.
As a reminder to anybody discussing sandy hook, the police have not released an official report so it is difficult to know what really happened.
