I started wondering this when I listed a broken down non-drivable car for cheap money on craigslist and on Facebook marketplace. On Facebook I got maybe a dozen responses in 30 minutes and only one of them was obviously a spam message. On craigslist in the same timeframe I got a half dozen responses all of them obvious spam messages.

I recently went to look at a car that was listed on craigslist only (see Acura rsx post ). After 36 hours I expected the car to be sold. Out of curiosity I texted the Acura owner to see if he still had the car. He has one person that came to look at the car but has not decided if he wants to purchase it. He's giving him tonight to decide or he's throwing back to me.

so is it possible that craigslist has become a spam market and if its not posted anywhere else, there's some good deals to be obtained as a buyer?

I look to CL for people who haven't sold a car themselves in 5 years or more.  Last time they sold a car CL was the greatest place to sell it. Since they've been out of the game, they likely have not used FB Marketplace.
