I think maybe Ted doesn't know what "moderate" means.

I belive that Ted is a real nice guy....I also believe that he is quite crazy in the coconut.

This. I don't care for his music (although ' Cat Scratch Fever' is a good 'un) but no one can deny he has done a lot for various charities along with his USO shows. he might not be as easygoing as Bob Hope was but he works every bit as hard for the folks in uniform.

I didn't hear any liberal media painting, just stating that the Nuge is not particularly moderate. "Moderate" is not an adjective I would use to describe him in any context.
Being an extreme person says nothing about how nice they are or not.

Yes Stranglehold is awesome. An no, there isn't anything moderate about Uncle Ted.
I saw him play in Camden NJ a few years ago. I'm pretty sure most of Camden's power was in a brown-out while he was on stage. Also think the sound coming off the stage was strong enough to push the USS New Jersey over to Philly. It was a great show.
A buddy of mine met him back when the RNC convention was in Philly. Nuge made his way back to the editing suites where by buddy works. He was standing behind my buddy when one of the other guys says "Dude, Nuge is standing right behind you." My buddy responds with "yea right, berkeley you." Nuge laughs and tells my buddy "I like your attitude!" Then Nuge gave came in and gave them a great interview.
My buddy concluded he was a hell of a nice guy (without having to have any physical contact).
He keeps using that word. I do not think it means what he thinks it means.
Ted is my hero. I don't agree with everything he says, but dangit, he knows what he believes and stands for it. If you get in his way, he'll let you know. He won't bend to the will of the nearest talking head.
