I had wondered why no one built something like this, now I know they do.
I had also wondered if you could do something like they do with the last shell.
I'm a good wonderer.

I'm not so sure I'd want poachers, or legal hunters having the ability to murder that many birds in a few seconds.
I'm perfectly fine with a normal semi-auto shotgun.
I Googled Blackwater (Now "Xe", hahaha), and have read Scahill's book, but I never remember it mentioned zombie disintegrating automatic shotguns.
Maybe I'm missing something?
Uh yeah that frag 12 is an interesting little round...you can't buy that at your local Wal Mart lol...
However they were saying how beefy and heavy duty the parts for that thing are, I wonder how much that thing weights?
Basically it looks like a modern updated full auto striker 12
The Striker 12 came out in the 80's and was semi auto with a drum mag
Then there is also the USAS-12 made by Daewoo it can be had with regular mag or drum.
Something about the recoil mechanism in the AA-12 allows that makes it very easy to handle, very light, and very accurate for a gun of its size and caliper.
Oh, and I'm getting the feeling that Blackwater (Now Xe, pronounced Zee, HHAHA LOLZ, WHO TAKES THAT SERIOUSLY) designed and manufactured, or at least are the only people in ownership of mass quantities of these AA-12 shotguns.

And I have no use for an AK, but i still want one, in legal semi auto form. And the PS-90, and a... Yet I am not a fan of the NRA and I don't think I will ever join them, despite my love of guns.
As for Blackwater/Xee, haliburton and the blatant fruad that is contractors in the war zone, I have learned to shut my mouth as my Father is over there with KBR.
Nothing new. Remington made a selective-fire box magazine 12 gauge around 1970 - model 7188, I think.
The Manville gun was interesting, but didn't sell. Not full auto, but intimidating:
The Nock volley gun was also not very successful. Seven .52-caliber barrels, that all fire at once. In the movie "The Alamo" (1960) Jim Bowie (Richard Widmark) carried one.
But to kill a lot of birds quickly, one needs a punt gun. They were mounted in a sneak boat or punt, and shot over ducks on the water. Yes, that's a real gun. Not a legal method anymore.
All of the semi-auto versions of these kinds of shotguns were determined to "not have a sporting purpose" by the ATF and are therefore "Destructive Devices" and are therefore prohibited under the National Firearms Act of 1934, and then Gun Control Act of 1968.
The closest you can get is a Saiga-12, which is essentially a 12 gauge kalashnikov:
However, with the advent of 50 round drums for these shotguns, and the ease at which "non sporting features" are added, my prediction is that they'll be regulated as a "Non Sporting Firearm" any day now. (But I've been predicting that for months, and so far nothing.)
If ya really want to get into it (and I'm glad the government hasn't) any standard pump shotgun is quite the "destructive device" even if it is slower than the its auto/semi auto brothers.
There is a reason the two guns I keep loaded at all times are what they are, a .45 1911 and a Mossberg 590.

Hence their jump in price...
Just because they're so damn cool, the Saiga is roughly #5 on my guns-to-purchase list.

Well, by the "destructive device" definition, you're right, except that there's a specific exemption for firearms with a "sporting purpose", which all pump guns are by default...

I think I'd be more comfortable being shot at with a Daewoo gun than shooting a Daewoo gun
I just read an article on that Saiga 12 in SGN. What you can import here isn't all that great. A company here is modding them up with folding stocks and bigger mags. They had a 10 round mag that didn't work too well. You could load 8 or 9 into it and it would be fair, but still prone to jamming and if you left a plastic shotgun shell in the top of the mag for any length of time, it crushed it to an oval and then wouldn't feed. The author went on to discuss solid brass shotgun shells. It is an interesting shotgun, though. The gas system is adjustable on it too.

In the video they are going onto "blackwater" compound in North Carlina.
Just one of the many who have made a fortune off the Iraq war yet provided absolutely nothing. Wonder why the conservative media won't whine about these guys? I guess that wouldn't be fair and balanced enough.
Damn, that's a helluva weapon.
As the Greaseman would say:
SCHWEEEEEEET!!
That'll make your loin cloth fit tight....
my uncle has one of those punt guns...
im 6'2" and its taller then i am. HELL of a thing to heft. couldn't shoulder the thing needless to say. (his isnt quite as large as the one pictured though)
its too old and historical to shoot, but it would be a hell of a thing to see.

Daewoo makes one of the best .223 military rifles available. That said, a buddy of mine has a USAS12 and it pretty much will only cycle with magnum rifled slugs. Maybe it needs cleaning...
