fustercluck in full swing, media intervention as usual, mudslinging, BS or what??
I don't follow politics in depth anymore as in my experience the rise in blood pressure is better kept in check until candidates have run the gauntlet of the press, mudslinging campaigns and candidate selection is coming down to the wire.

I really have a problem with claims over a decade old of alleged abuses that were never reported, documented, or corroborated.
I don't mean to be cruel, but if it wasn't worth reporting to authorities when it "happened", why is it suddenly significant when it is politically expedient?
Maybe the charges are bogus. But he isn't helping his case by waving off the press and saying, 'end of story, not going to talk about it.' It's like Michael Wiener. The more upset he gets, the more you think that there is something here he really doesn't want to talk about. If anything, that makes him look more guilty and then he goes on about not remembering and not being sure about how the NRA handled the claims when he was CEO and if he didn't know, he probably should have. Then he accuses the Rick Perry campaign and demands to know who exposed this. It all looks kind of funny.
He needs to put his cards on the table and say this is what happened. I was falsely charged and here is why. Avoiding the issue and responding with accusations just makes him seem deceptive.
Of course you realize how ridiculous that is, right?
What if nothing happened? How is he going to prove nothing? Shall he give credibility to every bogus claim by trying to defend himself against something that didn't happen?
What if it did happen? It's still his word against theirs (and most of them are anonymous). How's THAT gonna work?
I know this is gonna sound callous, but if no charges were filed, no evidence presented, and no witnesses I see no reason why anyone should pay any attention.
I deeply understand the difficulties with reporting charges of this nature, but part of the consequences of not reporting is a lack of credibility later.
Do you know for a fact that there were no witnesses? Do you know what evidence might have been presented and to whom? Did you work for the NRA back then and know all about the charges?
I don't think that everything has come out yet. If Cain were smart, and he were innocent, he would get his side of the story out first. All of it. Disclose every single accusation and respond to it. Every PR professional knows that if you have bad news to disclose, release it before your enemy does and release all of it so you can control the story and keep your enemies from putting their spin on it, and at least they can't call you a liar along with everything else. Do it all at once and be done with it so the story really is done and over with in a few days instead of letting bits and pieces come out over several months so the story keeps going and going.
Of course if Cain were guilty, he would want to hold back wait to see how much of it comes out hoping that not every detail and not every incident comes out, or that some of his accusers would be afraid to even bring it up and that it might even blow over and he might not have to deal with it. Deny, deny deny and accuse the other side of conspiracy.
Of course the guys running against him are digging this up. Romney's guys were digging up stuff on McCain and Guiliani during the last go around. I'm sure that Gloria Allred is loving every minute of this as are her Democratic supporters. And if Republicans found out anything about Obama fooling around with an intern, it would be blasted out by Rush and Fox News all day long too, and there would be a thread here about why Obama won't come clean and the sides would be reversed. Cain should have been prepared for this. He knew that he was accused back then and that money was paid out on his behalf and that agreements were signed.

I know that none have come forward, and the claim was that it happened in an enclosed car when they were alone.
Allegations. Not charges.
My point exactly.
That MSN video was hilarious. What a lying sack of crap lol.
Like I've been saying since I started reading about politics in North America; you guys have reaallllllyyyyyyyy got to limit elections to 2 months. Really, really badly.
What kind of car was it? Was it a stick? Column or console shift? Was his fly down before he forced your head down? Were the seat belts on when he forced your head down?
This woman needs to be grilled with out that vulture around. This is a pretty serious allegations shes laying on the man. I don't believe her at all.
Snowdoggie is, of course, really smart, of course. You married, snowdoggie?
Are the naysayers forgetting that two women received a year's salary to go away after Hermie tried to put the moves on them?

I have seen enough jobs disappear in the name of sexual harassment that were so ridiculous that I find it difficult to believe anything but the most credible evidence.

All we know on those is that there was a settlement. Without any facts, it's hard to say one way or the other. I know that I've been at companies who would settle out of court on E36 M3 that they knew 100% they would win in court, based on the simple economics that the settlement was cheaper than the court costs.
That's not saying that I assume there was nothing there either. There may be. I'm just saying that the mere presence of a settlement means little to me.

Even with that being said, I still have a feeling Cain is out.

The women keep saying his 'Cain' was out, but nobody has proof yet.

Rumour has that one of Clinton's wimmen was "just jonesen for a willie".
How come every political thread here ends up as a discussion about weenies.
Almost 21 pages and Cain still has no shot. He never did. He is this season's Ron Paul. If he had a project car I could see you guys continuing this thread but otherwise... I'm just here for the penis jokes.

Do you only watch the NFL playoffs and skip the regular season? It is like talking about Tim Tebow. Sure, he doesn't have a chance at leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl, but he is fun to argue about.

Actually, I don't even watch the playoffs anymore. I only know who Tebow is because there was a pic of him with his jesus-ey eye make-up in the paper and I asked my BIL "Who is that douche?"
Exactly. That is all we are doing here -
Who is this douche?
I can't believe he is 1.9 points ahead of Mittens
Either way, I am not a registered Republican(nor any other party) so I don't have a dog in this race till the general election.

Maybe Mittens has to go out and harass some women. It worked for Clinton.
I see he's taken to referring to himself in the third person. Taking a page out of the Bob Dole play book. Not sure that's how I'd attack this.

Thankfully so, the guy's a joke. Godfathers pizza is the worst too, maybe he should focus on fixing that first.
