Geeez. Don't be a girl. That's no biggie. A poisonous spider bite would be eating a big hole in your skin.

That's what i told SWMBO, but she wasn't quite so amused.
I'm honestly not worried about this, i'll know if it goes south and i need to go to the doctor. Mostly looking for "See honey? GRM says it's ok!"
On the list of "Things I Probably Should Have Found Medical Attention For But Didn't In The Last 12 Months," this is pretty much near the bottom, as far as i'm concerned.

You guys would freak out if you saw the raw, bleeding, oozing condition that my ankles and feet have been in for the last two months.

Please share.
I have a very severe case of atopic dermatitis. It is the most intense deep itch I've ever experienced. And I do not have enough will power to resist digging all the flesh off until they are basically just open wounds. I'll spare you gory pictures but your little bumps are nothing in comparison.
I have it from my wrists to my elbows and my feet to my knees and even a little higher.
I'm Miserable.
I found my chigger bite pics. I can thank Bentonville, Arkansas for those.
Like I said, I just stabbed them and they were fine.
I would stab with something clean and sharp, dump some peroxide on them, coat with a little Neosporin and a band-aid.
After seeing your pics you just need to slice and dice then throw some newsporin on it. And stop hiking thru the brush without adequate protection ;-)

Yeah.... They don't look like Sperlo's. Or really anything i saw online for chigger bites.
Nope, no blackberries.
Tracks are bad, the longer you wait, the higher the odds of it turning into something much worse. The last time I ignored a wound like that for a while before seeking medical attention, the cure (after going through a couple different prescription antibiotic creams and pills) ended up being 5 days in the hospital on IV vancomycin (a "drug of last resort"). When I was admitted, the infection was a solid 8x5" patch on my calf. It was a bad enough a surgeon had a look at it before things took a turn for the better.
The stuff in neosporin/triple antibiotic ointment is pretty useless, that's why despite being antibiotics, you can just up and buy it with no reason. See the doc for a tube of whatever the next step up is called (the name escapes me, bactroban?).
Speaking of chiggers, Whilst pruning my azeleas today I spied a chigger nest. It had 11 eggs in it. I crushed all of them.

And you guys question my "grown men don't wear shorts" policy.
Shants and mandals? No thank-you.
