My system has been haphazard at best. I have some free time this weekend, so I was thinking about going to get the stuff to do the design below. Anyone have a better suggestion?
I gotta say, though, not sure why this guy screwed his together and built supports between them. Why not use PVC glue?
Don't use glue if you ever want to take it apart...
I only have a few and I tear them down after I'm done, so its not an issue. But if It were me, i'd probably just drill some large holes into a 2x4 or 2x6.
I cut a slot in pool noodles and stuff one in each pool noodle, then they're fairly haphazardly laid against a wall in the basement, I should make a support across the ceiling. The noodle bonus is not rattling or potential damage to eyes while in the car

Pool noodle is a good idea.
What space do you have to store them in? I don't like what was pictured because it is too hard to get the one in the middle out. Here is what I have used in the past; right now they're all in the boats and I need to set up something in the garage. A lot of the ideas I'm posting here can be combined and customized to your needs
If you don't have wall/floor space, go from the ceiling. This can be super simple with C-hooks screwed in, or something fancier:
If you do have the wall space, I like PVC screwed to the wall in one way or another. Imagine this first one if it were screwed directly to the wall/studs; this is the "portable" version:
Pool noodle is a good addition:
My FIL has two of these, I really, really like this setup if you have the right space for it - works well in corners:
Also, I hate 2 piece rods. Very few situations where I actually would collapse them, so I realized I don't need them. Almost any time I'm going fishing, I'm either alone so they can sit in the front seat, or I'm in a van/SUV/truck and they can fit, or they can go in a tube on top fo the vehicle.
Funny timing. I'm about to go try to fab up some holders for one of the boats now.
Ya'll impress the hell out of me! I just lean mine up in a corner. But then again I'm a zebco33 and uglystik sort of fisherman.

Hey, like anything this can get out of hand. How do you store your tires? Because you know you need race tires (stored indoors), snow tires, and probably some all seasons for when you're not on snows or race tires... For each vehicle, right?
But for fishing poles, I have my trolling rods, jigging rods, frogging rods, crankbaits, then my brother likes to chase salmon so we have some big suckers for that... All to catch an animal that has a brain the size of my pinky, that I usually throw back once I catch it. It is silly. But I enjoy it. Actually nowadays I play more with boats and fishing than I do with cars.
Oh... And I bet that more fish have been caught on a snoopy pole than any other, closely followed by the Zebco and an Ugly stick.

No critisism intended. Hell my mom is one you guys, untill recently she kept different boats depending on what she was after.

No criticism detected. I was just pointing out that I’ve gone off the deep end that I need to worry about this.
If they're stored, you're not fishing and you're doing it wrong.
That said, I need a better storage solution.

Part of why I'm not fishing is the storage solution I currently have. Dog knocked em over and now they are hopelessly tangled

That's also part of the problem, I don't really have any dedicated place for them and my garage looks like Wall-E's storage space got hit with a tornado.
Area in there is kinda first come-first serve. I can clear some space for them though.

Thank you for posting this. We live on a lake so we are required to have fishing poles for anyone who wants to fish.
Our bay is known for good Walleye and bass fishing although personally I could care less we have enough poles so storage is a problem.
I like some of the ideas shown here and I'll start tomorrow on modifying those ideas to suit my house.
Stay tuned I'll post some pictures

Don’t keep them rigged. Obviously this isn’t a hard and fast rule, but I’ve found I’m generally only using 3-4 at any given time. They’ll be rigged up, everything else has the line taped/clipped at the spool. My trolling rods, which all have clips, never come out of the boat with a crank bait on them, and NEVER come out of the boat with a crawler harness.
Anyone have experience with rod sleeves? Good or bad?

I like the pool noodle, but not sure I can find the wall space! the alternating rods on the plywood cutouts on the ceiling is great! Now that a boat came home with me, I'll need to do that one; even though very little fishin' is planed for this boat.
And, fortunately, I don't spend enough time around that white stuff for a dedicated set of tires to store. When I used to travel for work, I was around the stuff from time to time, but never had much problems driving in it. Just a little extra attention to conditions. Only got a bad storm in VA every few years, if ya don't include the ice storms.
Wherever I last put them since I bought my first Miata.
I made this a long time ago. Its been useful.

Im just happy that whomever set that pic up is as nuts as me and they set the red/blue handles in a nice pattern. Handles in the same positon too. This sparks joy.
