I guess we(Iggy,Salie and myself) just have to agree to disagree on what is a lie and what are the consequences.
I'm being pedantic, but I think we agree on what lies are. I think what we disagree on, is whether or not there is a gradient in the severity of lies.
I'd like if factcheck and such sites rated the lies -- 1 for a little one, 2 for a pretty clear misstatement, 3 for a whopper. Then score the candidates.

Both sides lie, I agree McC has been stretching it a bit too much here lately but yO-mama isn't the clean innocent politician (now there's an oxymoron for you!) some people on here would like you to believe.
And I agree - FLOUNDER! Shut this down please....
I deleted everything I wrote..
Happy now?
Your maturity continues to amaze us all! Seems you can give crap but not take it....

What is the line between 2 and 3? What makes something a whopper?
I'd say not just a clear misstatement, but when somebody obviously knows the truth and says something that's completely the opposite.
Hillary's bit about being shot at on some junket would be a two.. obviously untrue as she said it, but maybe she was getting dates or locations mixed up.
Bill's "I did not have sex with that woman" would be a three. No matter how you break it down, it's just not true.

I told myself I wasn't going to post anymore.. but I feel like I've been part of this community for so long I can't act like a weiner and run away...
Here's the deal. I screwed up when I got into some petty self serving argument with folks in another thread. I attacked some folks. It wasn't good. So I realized that and decided to be nicer in the way I conducted business on this forum, as I respect many of the folks here.
I tried posting some funny stuff, about having a man crush, but repeated calls to lock a thread felt like personal attacks. In another thread, I was violently attacked by someone who twisted my words around so greatly and assumed much about it, it made me to think.. So, Instead of arguing in a way that would just offend more folks; I deleted my posts and decided to walk away. It just felt like everything was a personal attack. Maybe It was.. Maybe it wasn't, but it ain't worth arguing anymore and taking cheap shots left and right.
call me immature if you will...
edit.. I forgot to say.. I'm sorry to anyone I offended before. It wasn't right.
Ignorant, this is a board full of Arrogant Opinionated Asses. If you make a strong statement, a bunch of those AOAs will jump up and start shouting back and forth about how wrong/right you are and telling each other what morons they are for disagreeing with what is obviously the only correct opinion.
Don't feel bad for holding a particular opinion. Only feel bad if you present that opinion in a manner inconsiderate to the people who have different opinions from you, or if you stubbornly refuse to adjust your opinion for any reason.

It's not my goal (or place) to chase anyone away. It is my goal to get people to think logically and rationally and understand their own opinions.
Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions, and no opinion is wrong as an opinion. But just being an opinion doesn't necessarily make everything right. It's got to have logic and reasoned consideration behind it.
I'd also like to say that (at least on this board) most of us AOAs tend to respond to the way we're approached. If you're going to call people out, you'd better be prepared to defend your position, and not just say we're shiny happy persons.
I believe that I was not "engaged in debate" for what I said.. Rather than who I was...
That fact caused me to stop and think and realize it's gone too far. All of it.
So.. In the interest of board integrity.. I'm done.
not running away.. but no more with the debating.

Well, I won't attempt to make you post anymore, but I have no idea who you are, where you live, how old you are, how you vote, or anything about your background and education... I just read what you wrote.
who I was in the preconceived notion sense...
Ah, relax Ig it's not personal - really!
Thanks for explaining your action, I retract my previous comment.
It's alright.
I like you guys. I just don't want to cross the line again.. Which I do have the tendency to do.
