That lot is right at the intersection of 91 and 84. You can see it from the highway.
I'm going to go against the grain here. Don't do it. It will just become a new obsession that your mind can't deal without. You'll spend thousands of doll hairs on silly parts that make your car undrivable on hte street so you can set the FTD and you'll start worrying about this mythical thing called PAX.
IT's a terrible disease that spends all your money and has no cure. That's why I do it every chanceI can.
Serious question. How the heck do you guys remember the course layout. I want to try it soon, but worry that i would be like a 90 year old lady on the freeway and endanger everyone.
In reply to Cuda:
I make sure to get there early so u can do at least one if not two course walks. If the course designer is any good there will be a definite flow to it, challenging but still able to puck it up after a run.
Do it! Skip the attend, just participate. It's maybe the cheapest motorsport you can participate in, up to a point. It just takes time, strategy, and discipline to spend few dollars on it.
In reply to Bobzilla: The maybe easiest way to a good PAX is to stay in a slow class, especially C Stock and slower.
Even just attending as a spectator is great fun. I don't get out there as often as i should but it's still fun even to.walk around the cars and just watch

Did you mean something other than august or is my laptop being stupid or something? Cause Dover isn't THAT far away from me, and the one I managed to watch in Aberdeen before it went tits up was really entertaining.

What was said earlier about course flow.
Also, I do not memorize the whole course turn by turn. Memorize it in chunks of sections (e.g. hard 90 into short strait into slalom) and then memorize what is not intuitive (e.g. start slalom on inside... or, sweeper decreases radius). What is or isn't intuitive will come with experience.
To start: look up. Look ahead. No, farther ahead. Try putting a piece of blue tape in your windshield right in front of you, 1" below eye level to be really irritating if you start to look down.

Yeah, I don't know WTF happened there. It's 11 October at Dover Speedway - a pretty large pair of lots on the south side of the Monster Mile. Definitely come on out; it was a great time last year. We'll probably get 6 runs in. Preregistration is free at www.motorsportreg.com and you don't pay until you show up at the event. Also, www.brandywinemotorsportclub.org for info.

Ask an old timer to ride with you. Iaalways do that and ask them to help me navigate. Helps ommensly.
And remember, it's purely to have fun. I could give a E36 M3 how I finished. But if I go home grinning from ear to ear, it was a good day.

This.
Although, it's really fun to bring/find a friend who can give you some good natured competition. No matter who goes faster, youboth win. Really, just aim to improve on every run.
Cuda, I walk at least 3 times. I made my son walk at least 6 times at this first event. After walking, if you can go back to your car and draw the course, you're ready.
I want to go and participate in the worst way. SWMBO thinks its bad news for my 200k plus mile Saab 9-5...

We have 2 guys who are good friends, and pretty equally matched as drivers. They each pay 2 fees and enter both their cars in both their names, then spend the day trying to beat each other in the other guy's car. Plus they get a ton of seat time.
