We filed for the divorce so it would finalize before the end of the year (Dec 27) and told the kids. I found a great place to rent 3 blocks away that owner wants to sell so we are in negotiations to switch to a 6-month lease with option to buy. I signed a contract with the VA this morning accepting a job there that starts in 2 weeks, so goodbye stupid tire store job. The kids have spent the night a bunch and will be again tonight. Grad school is going well. I won the season championship in CAM for the Oregon SCCA and while the Cobra is leaking literally every fluid, it still runs and is in a garage now big enough to work on it along with some new HF toolboxes. Yeah, I guess I'm doing okay. Thought a few of you would want to know since you sent some PM's when it all started. I hope to throw a local GRMers garagewarming party soon.
Glad to hear it. Transitions are never easy, but sometimes they can be great. Even if it takes a while to get that way.
Glad you're doing ok.
The sun rises every morning, no matter what else is going on. Sometimes it helps to keep that in mind.
I'm glad to hear it's going well. Few changes are easy, but this series sounds like it's for the better.
Sounds like you might be past "the bottom" and headed to "the top."
Congrats. Also congrats for seeing what you DO have rather than focusing on the opposite.
Wondered how it was going. Sounds pretty good but I'm sure it's not all roses. Hoping for continued good.
It probably doesn't feel like you're doing great. But I think you're doing amazing. Dont know how I'd cope in your situation. Hats off to you and a beer for whenever we meet.
I did this in 2014. I'm glad you are posting your joy and seeing you share your vulnerability is key to your moving forward.
Stay strong, love yourself, take care of yourself, love your children, and all will be fine. Here's to a beautiful future for you.
I've seen first hand how miserable those tire jobs are. VA should be a huge improvement. That alone should make a big difference in your day to day. Hang in there it only gets better!
Was thinking about you the other day as well. Glad things are coming together. Good to see you listing positive things. If it makes you feel better my 60k mile cream puff of a cobra leaks power steering badly enough to warrant a bottle of fluid in the trunk, it's only been leaking for 15 years... (getting worse recently, need to replace the rack)
That's a pretty great turnaround! There will still be lots of down/sad moments up to and after the divorce.........I went through all this in 2015.
But keep your head up! It sounds like you are on a great path to a better situation!
It's good to hear from you Javelin. I was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen you post in awhile. I know you were facing some difficult times but it sounds like you are moving forward. Keep your chin up; you got this!
And now a pic I took awhile ago that made me chuckle:
It's a battery pack for an AN/PRC-117G radio.
Definitely good to hear from you. Minus the one-big-difficulty it sounds like you're doing great between the job change, starting school again, and a championship to boot! That's a lot of wins.

That's one of the strangest and most hilarious things I've seen!
