It looks like the only traffic that would flow better is the ramps on and off interstate. Cross traffic still has to stop. It should also make for some spectacular head on collisions when some texting teen runs one of the reds.
It would be interesting to see how it works in the real world compared to a conventional intersection.
Looks like keeping some of the walkways passable after big snowfalls up north might be tough.

I go through this intersection regularly. And it's slow. Too much traffic too much of the time for it to flow smoothly. In theory it might be a decent idea but in practice adding stop lights slows the flow.
Fortunately, traffic engineers are smarter than I am so they're adding two more diamond crossovers within ten miles of the first.
That's a pretty busy intersection. I don't drive through it regularly but 88 seems to have lots of trouble with intersections.
It'll probably be fine. It looks confusing from above but I bet it won't be on the road.

You don't really notice it because Arundel Mills ends at 295 so it is a "T" intersection.
My locality has determined that traffic circles are the answer to all of our traffic problems. The big issue I have with them is no one signals, so you have no idea whether drivers already in the circle are merging off or continuing around to the next "exit". Aggressive drivers seem to like them. People who aren't crazy about getting into accidents, not so much.
I use that exit a lot. It's not done yet. That area is a freak show.
My town has one and it was awesome at first. Then they started messing with light timing and it is back to waiting at the light forever. Still better than before though.

We have one in Dublin, ohio at the intersection of the outer belt and sawmill road. I've not heard of any accidents, and I doubt we'll see to many for the simple fact that it makes people pay attention when they go through it. But, the intersection is still berkeleyed. Might be better than it was, but it's still a traffic nightmare.
As for traffic circles, I was stationed in Germany for four years, they are great... Once the locals understand how they work. I suspect that in some parts of the south that will take a generation.
