I've lived in PA for three years and three weeks and have now experienced more tornado warnings than in over forty years living in GA. And Georgia has a LOT more twisters than this area.
Just too weird.

Last week we had a tornado touch down less than a mile from our house, had no idea. It was back up off the ground before the sirens could go off.
I've been through so many tornado warnings (living in Oklahoma for 36 years) I can't even count.
This is the first year in probably 15 anyway that I haven't been under an official warning.
Just don't get carried away.
Lol, glad you're ok, we've had some strong storms here lately, but nothing that bad. Stay safe
We’re getting bands of nasty right now and can’t hear the siren with the rain hitting the awnings. We had one go over the house when I lived with my parents, the house is nestled into a hill on 2 sides and it wiped out trees to the peak of the hill and skipped over the house. Got home one night and apparently one had touched down right where i drove through. Tornadoes are not to be berkeleyed with
In reply to EastCoastMojo :
Saw what you did there, ECM.
The only thing that got carried away was my cat and he wasn't too pleased to be put in his carrier for the second time in seven days. Last week was for an emergency trip to the vet but at least this time he didn't meow all the down to the basement. Last week's adventure was an earful.

I try to not let these kinds of things spin me up.
It's definitely not something to get twisted over.
Honestly, I miss tornado sirens. They meant fun weather. I'm not one to let a little death get in the way of some cool weather.
3 years.. So you weren't here for the earthquake?
We've had a few tornadoes touch down within 10 miles of the house through the years, nothing Oklahoma bad, but still a bit of damage.
Last time I got a tornado warning on my phone was 30 seconds AFTER it took out everything in my front yard.
I completely missed when the f5 hit van wert. I was at home with my then girlfriend and just thought it rained. Went to take her home and bridges and roads were closed. The weirdest part of it all was a year after I moved out of Hagerstown they got hit with a tornado just outside the housing we lived in.
We get quite a few warnings here in central Illinois, but rarely get much damage.
November 17th, 2013 was a bit different.

Here's one account that talks about my good friend Steve who lost his life that day.
The town of Washington took a pretty hard hit. I have a new respect for tornadoes after that. This tornado went within a couple miles of my house, and it didn't even blow the leaves around in my yard.
looks like areas of PA got hit hard yesterday. We got some torrential rain, but nothing beyond that here at the beach. Hope everyone is ok!
I've been in SC for 50 years and have never seen one. I recall one that touched down and knocked over a tree but that was 30 years ago.
I'm sure the local news is devastated about that.
I would much rather deal with hurricanes.
An F4 tornado hit my hometown (Wichita Falls, Texas) and killed 46 people on April 10, 1979. I take warnings seriously.
We get the warnings here, though we’re close enough to water that they’re not very big. I was a bit disappointed though when a waterspout came on shore earlier this year a mile away & I didn’t get to see it.
I didn't know Georgia had a lot of tornados, I always figured it was more of a midwestern thing.
It's funny how people in the coastal areas talk about rather having to deal with hurricanes, around here people will say they prefer tornados.

I grew up in the midwest, I've done tornadoes. And I've done hurricanes now. I'd rather deal with hurricanes, though I'd rather SEE a tornado. #weathernerd
