Netflix can make a good show, and they are probably the one entity that can rival the bbc in budget and creative freedom.

I'm cautiously optimistic. The new show needs to be its own thing and not a rehash of the increasingly stale Top Gear if they want to keep people coming back.

That said, even stale Top Gear is better than most every other car show out there.

I've got netflix, amazon HBO GO and just basic local cable these days. It costs considerably less than just the top tier cable used to.

I'm all in for under $90/mo including the broadband and all services. I still don't watch it much. If I didn't have a wife and kids I'd get rid of all of it.

I never thought it got stale. I have seen every episode of seasons 1-22 or so at least three times and will watch them all again. I need to get caught up on the last couple seasons. I'll watch anything Clarkson and the gang do, if it's on Netflix so much the better because I already have that. But if it's on something else then I'll do whatever it takes to see it. Yes, I'm a fanboy.

Netflix steaming is my family's only source of TV, so we will be watching

They have said that because it's a subscription service, they won't have to worry about being PC.

I'm optimistic.

Clarkson not being PC?

you mean he has been PC all this time?

Same here, although "family" is me and the pit bull. I dropped DirecTv when the ex-wife moved out in 2008 and haven't missed it since. I've had Netflix since before people had really heard of it, like early 2000's.

I'll be ok if they rehash a little TopGear, because yes even with only 5 seasons on streaming it's still my go-to when I have about an hour to kill.

They've taken it down to 5 seasons? A few months ago they had all but the last season.

Yup. I think February. There was a chance it was all going away (something to do with the BBC America), but ended up being leaving the last 4 seasons, then recently they added a new season.

Maybe I should have worded that different, I was half awake.

They said that with Netflix they won't have to worry about losing sponsors over them not being PC. There's another British TV station that wants them, but it looks like they are picking Netflix over the TV station because of this reason.
