Uncle Lowell passed today.
He lived a couple blocks away from us when I was growing up. He had a big old deep gruffy voice with that deep woods Kentucky accent. He was a big old burley man with a beard down to his belly button. He was a hell of a story teller and practical joker. I think half the time he stopped by the house was just to get mom an dad in a big old fight about something that happened forty years ago, he'd start laughing real big then get up and leave.
I remember as a kid, while out ridding my bike he would pull up in the middle of the street and holler at me. He had a black mid 70's stepside chevy, black on Cragar SS's and dad had a 76 GMC stepside, brown on Cragar SS's. He'd say "that GMC's a piece of junk!" I'd holler "that wore out old Chevy can't even do a burnout!" He'd get a big old E36 M3 eating grin on his face and fill the whole street with tire smoke. He also let me hide my first car at his house until dad could break the news to mom that I had bought it.
I hope my dad and him are sitting on a river bank somewhere drinking a beer and telling lies.

Sorry for your loss. He sounds like a hell of guy.
You should print this as a newspaper obituary, I get the feeling he would've liked that.

This, and my condolences.
I hope you can remember some of the stories and write them down.
I realized I made it sound like he was my dads brother, he was my moms brother, one of 14 in all, only 8 left living now. Him and dad were just good fiends.
Damn man. They don't make em like that anymore. Sorry to hear
Very sorry for your loss!
Very sorry to hear that Nick.
Prayers of comfort for you and the fam . . . .
You said he was a hell of a story teller and practical joker A great tribute to him would be to pass along some of his stories or jokes. I do this all the time with my dad's corny jokes and it makes me smile. Good thoughts and prayers for all.
You have the memories, now I have a mental picture. When they say " dying bre ed" it is becoming more relevant to me.I have one uncle left and he is failing. Think I'll have a beer. Peace.
Sorry for your loss - sounds like a fun guy to grown up around...

Have to keep those memories alive, both of them would have wanted that!
