1 gallon of gas is approximately 6.3lbm or 2.86kg
A kilogram of gas has approximately 46 MJ of energy or 10,987 kcal
2.86kg * 10987kcal = 31422.
31422 / 2000 kcal/day = 15.7 days
Strictly speaking, is he wrong, or am I?

I have this on a shirt. One of my nephews walked up to me and asked if I knew what the leaf was. I said yes and asked him what he called it. "Weed"
He never did figure it out. Just couldn't get past weed.

I think someone mixed up kilocalories and calories, as he's off by about a factor of 1000. This is why we don't play fast and loose with units, kids. This guy is going to drink a gallon of gas and starve to death in a couple of weeks because he doesn't have any groceries in the house.

Yeah, people, the world already uses enough gasoline without people drinking it. You need to be more environmentally responsible and discuss the caloric content of renewable biofuels, like alcohol.

Ethanol is 30MJ/kg or approx 24MJ/L
Re: calories. I remember doing an analysis at one point to determine how many calories superman burns doing even the simplest thing... it is a lot. If he can (and why not?) digest pure gasoline, it might explain his ability to sustain a fight. If not he would be in a constant state of eating.
I propose that the 'merican unit of energy be changed to "big macs" for anything over 1000kcal. I'm not sure what a big mac/s would be though.

He would also be in a constant state of overheating, unless his body was simply so efficient that it did not generate that much waste heat, in which case he would not need so many calories in the first place. Which can be hammerformed into a canonical explanation of WHY he is "super", if one wanted to get all midichlorians at the subject.
Don't GET me started on the X-Men.

Even if his body was 100% efficient and produced no waste heat, the amount of calories needed would be absolutely insane.

Isn't he solar powered?
