I like convenience store food, be it "fresh" on the rollers or still packaged. Elios pizza too. I can eat a whole box.
This is from my adoration of 1980s school cafeteria food I think.
I’d started thinking it would be nice to have a crown vic or something similar to commute on our pothole infested roads.
I thought about it for most of the way home before I realized I already have a gym b body and don’t need any more cars.
I should start driving that thing again.
I'm starting to look forward to the Fridays when Lil Stampie goes to his mom's. Not because I don't love him being here but because it gives me an excuse to eat all his junk food before it goes bad cause Brown Sugar pop tarts are known to do that.

I believe that's called "wishful thinking."
We got an investment statement in the mail yesterday for SWMBO. We forgot we had this investment. The good news is it increased in value over 7k last year. I wish I could could say this was insignificant but 7k is 7k. Colour us happy.

There is a point, on a sliding scale between your personal Cost of Livnig, your age, your net worth, and your income, where $7,000 is insignificant.
It isn't many people though. Even for many of those that can reasonably be called wealthy, $7k is not insignificant.
Historically, it is very difficult for us to get very close on our income taxes each year. My wife and I, in non-pandemic times, usually have between 2-3 jobs each. One year we had 5 W2s and 3 1099-MISCs between us. Since many of these are as-needed or freelance in nature, often paid in cash (but still get the 1099), taxes can be a nightmare. Because of this, I always do some quick-and-dirty math, ballpark how much extra I should withhold, and have the highest paying W2 withhold at the "married, but filing separately" rate. This is usually pretty good, I end up owing between $200 and $400 to the state each year, and usually getting a refund between $500 to $1,000 on the federal return over the past 5 years, with one year having us owe a few hundred. Pretty good, and not too much of an interest free loan to the government.
Well, this year, pandemic. Whereas we started the year with 4 jobs between us, we ended it with 1, as well as a beautiful daughter born in March. Between the child tax credit (completely slipped my mind), the stimulus checks that we never received for our daughter, and the over-whithholding... Well, we're getting a large enough refund that I'm going through everything for the fourth time because there is no way that it is right (but it is). And it is an embarrassingly large amount. We're going to pay off the last of our medical expenses from our firstborn with it.
I gave a legitimate free loan to the government. And that makes me kinda angry.
I was today years old and reading back to back posts in the Frustrated with Fabrication thread when it finally hit me that ShawnG and SkinnyG are two different people.

I'm the other way around. Especially since my tax deductions grew up and moved out and paid off the house. I usually owe Fed about 300 and get back about 250 from State. I call it about even.

Stop with all the Pornhub.

In 1979-1980 my high school had a daily plate lunch for $.65. I have fond memories of the fish sandwich day.
It has recently been presented to me that between myself and one of the managers at my job- we pretty much a- run the show, and b- can make pretty much any rule we want down to who gets scheduled with who. There is serious moral debate whether to use this for good or evil, especially since we pretty much are the same person.
On days I work from home and know I won't be needing to go anywhere, I crack open a beer right as I wake up.
My Miata has been down since November for what I suspected was a bad fuel pump. I just never had the time to replace it. I finally did it and I was right about the fuel pump not working but it wasn't working because the main relay had gone bad. I'm a dumbass.

I had a similar issue with my jag. No heat at idle. Great A/C but no heat. Replaced heater control valve, replaced weird HVAC module, replaced aux coolant pump. After that found a burnt coolant pump relay. Sometimes I want to smack myself.
I accidentally installed an update on my computer Monday that resulted in me spending about 4 1/2 hours on the phone trying to regain access to some of my important files.
At the conclusion the final tech, reading through my file, thanked me for being so "accommodating", "patient", and "nice" and offered to compensate me with some free hardware.
It was at that point I realized I'd reached the point of no return. I've never been accused of being nice, and no tech or customer service person has ever offered me something for free without me making them cry first.
It's official. I'm old and I'm mellowing with age.
I discovered my bass came with a set of flatwounds in the gig bag, and I remarked in the string thread that I've been dying to try them, and I've yet to put them on...
I really might start hating all of the model/slot car folk here. I really want to go buy a $1400 slot car set up and a ton of cars now. I've paid much much less for real cars...
