With its age and the 235K miles on it I am not holding my breath on it getting fixed so I have been looking at the Regal GS. I really never thought I would be looking at a Buick but from what I have read it is very much an updated version of my 9-5.
Was impressed w/ my Dad's '14 Verano over the Cruze as a commuter. Regal GS AWD changed everything and I might trade the '09 E92 if I could find a loaded used one '14 up. No dice though. New are 35K plus, prolly gotta wait tho, might be some model year closeout deals. I likes me some Buicks tho, thought I'd never say that.
I put 42000 miles on my Verano since I bought it last May and Ive been very happy with it. They had some big rebates on them last year too so I got about $5000 off. They had some good deals on Regals as well at the time but they were still more than I could spend.

I am going to drive a 12 GS this weekend to see if I really want one or not since I have only sat in them at car shows.

I'm not looking forward to the trip this weekend. I'd rather stay home by myself.

Test drove a V6 stickshift Mustang yesterday. I might have liked it better than the 8 I drove. I'm not sure why.

Following on that confession, I didn't ever lie to the salesman. I told him I was thinking about getting a car but don't need one and likely was wasting his time (cold Thursday night, I was the only customer in the dealership). I had come to test drive an RX8, but that turned out to be too rough to even talk about. But I figured (and told him this) that I might as well drive the 6 cylinder Mustang. He had fun too, first stick shift he'd been in in over a year he said.

But the real motivation for me test driving anything was to get free auto show tickets. And I did.

I love the simplicity of my '90s beater-mobiles and I always talk about how great it is to drive an old cheap car that I don't care about... but last night I drove a loaded Fusion for four hours on the freeway. I gotta say, I kinda liked all the bells and whistles.

I bought a decade old Jag XKR. I'm simultaneously terrified of it and in love with it.

I read my own build threads repeatedly, and obsessively, sometimes I edit my grammar and/or spelling without declaring a ninja edit. Just fix it and walk away. It's like I read through to give myself a pep talk. "Look at all the great work you have done up til now, Buddy. Get in there and give us another update."

Oh, I also got my first speeding ticket ever that night because I wasn't paying attention and a modern family car is like a rocket ship compared to the cars I usually drive

My wife has started making a notebook of things I say in my sleep.

"I told you that is what a puffer fish would do."

"That's not a bat, it's MaryBeth!"

(while making what she described as "feeble slapping motions") "No, there are ticks...TICKS!"

There are others. I'm glad I have nothing to hide.

I read that as "children". I do love them but sometimes they need to spend a week with grandma....
