I did not know this. I'm playing with my calendar tomorrow morning. I get invited to too many meetings I don't need to be a part of.

I paid $17k for my wedding 20 years ago, the girlfriend paid $25k for hers about 10 years ago. We both had really nice fairytale weddings that we enjoyed. Getting remarried came up when we were at her mom's a while back. We both laughed. If/when it happens it's going to be a bbq in the backyard, with probably a friend officiating. Quick, and easy.

I went to a friend's wedding that was like that, the ceremony was about 3 minutes long. Best one I've been to.

Ha, that is pretty much what we did. Hog roast at the house (we hired, testing BBQ joints was a happy bonus), 60lb pig stuffed with homemade kielbasa, trays of mac n cheese, coleslaw, hired a friend to pour drinks from our own liquor cabinet. Cheesecake cupcakes in lieu of an actual cake because cheesecake is better in every way.

PA has a "self uniting marriage license", I signed, she signed, witnesses sign, kiss, party, mail it in the next day.

One person complained because a didn't do any of the "normal" wedding stuff, but it was our wedding so we did it our way, no dancing, no long speeches, no formal clothing, didn't even turn on the stereo.

I've been to a couple of BBQs where a wedding broke out. They're pretty damn awesome.

Yes although maybe not the one you are thinking of, not the one that the movie was filmed in.

Beautiful place and , at the time, amazingly cheap

Looks like my k1500 rear end has developed a clunk and I hear some squeeking.

No howling but it's not good, also rebuilding a rear end is something I've never done so yayyyyh

Is it Posi-trak or equivalent ?  My father had a '69 Bonneville wagon with a 428 and posi.  It would clunk and squeak when it got low or old fluid. Try fresh full fluid before freaking out.

Not posi but I'm gonna do exactly that, I have no idea how old it is. It wasn't low though

Also probably just do some heavier 140w synthetic just because.

Wasn't thinking of the movie. My sister got married in the same place, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Belle Gardens in Deer Valley?

Those are symptoms of a failing U-joint.  No howling or grinding sounds = probably not the rearend.

Drove up to the VIR today. Some jackass parked his pickup and trailered boat in a V so they blocked people's view of the VIR sign that marks where you turn off of 57 to go to the track. I saw several people turning around, having missed the turn (including me). There is a segment of our population that seems to think acting like an shiny happy person is a good character trait. Or maybe I'm just getting grumpy in my old age..

There is definitely a segment that thinks that way.  It could have been malice.

But there is a much, much larger segment that is simply oblivious to the world around them and won't even notice any inconvenience they cause other people, as long as they get to do whatever is most expedient for themselves at any given moment.

I hate struts.  They suck.  I replaced the front struts in our Sienna over Father's Day weekend.  What took so long?  Damn sway bar endlinks.  Had to cut them off because the nut would come off the bolt, the bolt spun, the hex head hogged out, and vice grips on the back side did noting but chew teeth off my vice grips... Everything else came off easy, but the end links wasted at least 4-5 hours.

So, go away for vacation.  Come back and my son's jetta wagon is leaning to one side.  Spring rusted and cracked.  So order new struts and after 15 (give or take) to Harbor Freight/Autozone for tools, etc.  I'm still not done. VW, in all their germanish, decided to not use struts that connect to the hub with two bolts.  No, the hub wraps around the bottom of the strut.  I have to disconnect the lower control arm from the hub, and I am now stuck with a strut cartridge that doesn't want to come out AND I'd have to take the caliper off and undue the tie rod if I need to get it pressed out.  Oh yeah. And the berkeleying end links aren't cooperating either....

Did I mention he needs his car to go back to college next weekend?...

The very first time I tried to remove endlinks I fought them forever.  Since then, I have never touched a wrench or socket to an installed endlink.  It is so much faster to just start with cutting them off with the angle grinder.  I did a pair on my sister's CRV a week or two ago and I had the old ones off in about 15 minutes, counting the time to put a fresh cutting disc on the tool.

That's what I did on the Sienna. But I only have a dremel, so it took some time. At least for the VW, the vice grips grabbed enough that the impact sheared the bolt on the roll bar end.  Link will leave the car with the strut.... if it leaves the hub...

I agree, but there isn't any play in the u joints. I wish it was

There is some slack in the rear diff though and adding fluid to it knocked down 75 percent of the sound so it looks like I'm on the right path. Spinning the tire doesn't feel great  when it's jacked up either

Oh, not that one either.

This was Roberts Mansion in Brownes Addition. They were changing hands and basically gave us free reign of the place for a week for not much over a grand. Great memories

So it looks like Tropical Storm Idalia (soon to be Cat 1, maybe Cat 2 Idalia) is going to maybe hit just north from us. The GF works for the county health dept and will be forced to work the evac shelters when/if they open. Our house sits in Evac Zone A, which will get flooded at anything over 3 feet. They are forecasting 5-7ft of storm surge. I really hope it doesn't come to that. We just completed a ton of interior repairs and upgrades to prepare to sell this house and GTFO of Florida, hopefully no later than next summer.

I'm so over this place. I berking hate it here. It's too hot, too crowded and too expensive. We both hate it here so much. I'm looking at jobs out west, possibly in the southwest. Somewhere with no people and no berking humidity.

TIL there are a lot more Victorian wedding venues in the Spokane Valley than I thought.

Rant: I enjoy church activities, and frequently cook for said activities. I enjoy much less the crotch goblins who've been given free run of the place and tear around the gym, menacing little old men and women alike. One of our older sisters about got knocked over three different times by three different children. The serving line and dining area are not the places for races.

Damn, I'm getting crotchety.

Preach. The free rein given to some kids is alarming.

Related (likely identical) issue is the local skatepark is used as daycare by a large contingent of soccer moms. Drop off a legion of scooter urchins, drive off and get a smoothie, return in three hours. I don't mind kids doing what they enjoy, but I do mind a bunch of snot nosed brats that purposefully make themselves menaces often at the expense of others. I've seen folks go down hard enough to break bones and lose teeth because the urchins though it would be funny to throw a scooter into the bowl without looking, for example. And obviously gone are the days where the urchins would just get beat so bad they ask mom not to bring them here anymore, and without witnessing the behavior themselves, they certainly don't believe their precious kids would act in such a way. Obviously it's the fault of the long haired skateboarding lowlifes. Probably high on the pot. Should have the cops called for yelling at little Johnny.

When those stupid Heelies sneakers were a thing, I strongly considered carrying around a bag of jacks with me and tossing handfuls in front of the annoying little brats zooming around everywhere.
