I got talked into going to a DMB concert about years ago. It was the only one I ever walked out of early. Sitting on a bench outside the arena was a much better time. I also cringe at the thought of spending time with Parrotheads or worse yet Phishheads. I understand why people need to be stoned at those shows.
I never understand why people waste their time worrying about what other people like. We are different and like different stuff. Deal with it.
Because liking or disliking different things is what makes life interesting. It would be boring if all discussions were agreements.
In reply to Duke :
Sure, liking and disliking different *stuff* is interesting. But to worry and complain that other people like stuff differently than you do is pretty lame.
Oh, and in spite of what you later said, words matter. You say hate, I say waste of time. Enjoy what you enjoy.
Ive got about 5 hours in making a part. Just broke one of the few pieces that are not able to be replaced, thereby making the rest of the thing scrap.
berkeley.

So... how are we supposed to communicate what we disagree about if we don't think about it and discuss that disagreement?

How do you feel about Deadheads?
Depends on the Head. My college roomate was a Deadhead, back in the dark ages. I actually don't mind most Dead and I really like some of it. I also appreciate Jerry's efforts to keep a lot of Americana music alive through a time when a lot of it would have been forgotten. I've got a bluegrass album he recorded just up the road from me at Sunset Park that's really good.

I just think Dave Matthews is creepy and weird, plus I'm not a big fan of the music. But it never ceases to amaze me how many women love him, and he's just such a lecherous cretin.

So, out of curiosity, how many labor hours is that job going to pay?
I don't actually know. But being GM warranty, probably nowhere near enough. These are the people that think replacing a heater core in an Equinox is a 5 hour job.

Aaaaaannnnnd, we're back on a different note. VSA warning light and CEL popped on again at startup. Berk. Hopefully not terribly hard to fix.

And on the Minor Win topic (that was almost a Minor Rant):
Inspection is due on the TSX at the end of the month. In Delaware you can run it through up to 90 days before expiration, which of course I haven't. Yesterday morning it threw a CEL (automatic inspection failure) and the "Stability Control Off" warning lit up. Great, something I now have less than 3 weeks to find and fix....
...but driving for a bit, and then restarting the car at a stoplight turned of the VSC warning. And this morning on the way to work the CEL decided the problem was only temporary, and turned itself off too.

These new GM truck motors are absolute trash. Have a 5.3L EcoTec3-powered '15 Silverado with 25K miles on the clock.
Uh oh. I’ve got a 2016 5.3 Silverado with 30,000 miles on it and I’m expecting Honda type reliability or something close to it.
Good news! Hondas are degrading in reliability to meet your expectations.
In reply to Duke :
Don't worry too much about the stability problem. Japanese generally turn that stuff off whenever they set an engine code. Scan the engine first.

In reply to Streetwiseguy :
Thanks for the input. Internet research seems to point to this being a wheel sensor issue. But that's with the car in the parking lot and me in here. I'll throw the scanner on it over the weekend and see what it says.
In reply to Duke :
It can go the other way, too. It may set the MIL because of a stability code.

"Parrotheads suck" is not saying "I don't like this music," it's for some bizarre reason disliking a person for the kind of music they listen to. There's a big difference, and not a very subtle one.
You’re the one that rolled out of bed three times this week before finally breaking your collarbone and landing in the hospital but I’m the bad guy for sending a set of chocks with your flowers.

Wally, you restore my faith in humanity.
Thank You!

Me liking or not liking them, the music they enjoy, or in fact anything at all does not invalidate them as individuals in even the smallest way.
Note to Subaru driving flat-bill millennials: Stance and snow do not mix. Had your undertray hit my car when it got torn off your "stance bro" WRX, we would have had a conversation you wouldn't enjoy.
In related news, don't eat Tide pods.
I really want to try one, they look pretty.
Rant: My neighbor a few doors down is a trash burning son of a b. The whole neighborhood smells like burning plastic and it's actually nice weather outside right now. I would like to be able to enjoy it.
Miata clutch hydraulics can suck me.

I think Duster is also intimately familiar with the legal issues concerning burning things around the house
