Sorta. No tunnel, no bright lights.
I was pumping off the winter cover on our pool when I took a wrong step and fell in the deep end. The cover wrapped around me trapping my legs under me and pinning my left arm to my body. I was completely submerged and wrapped in a tarp cocoon. My right arm was still above water and I managed to grab ahold of the leg on the pool slide. This allowed me to get my head above water and drag myself to the edge so I could haul my fat ass out. Not fun and of course I was alone at home at the time.
I think you just made sure that I'm going to be damn careful opening the pool this weekend!!!
Glad you got out of it okay.
I have gotten into the habit of almost dying every two years or so, you sorta get used to it.
Glad the 'near' part was there.
That E36 M3 is what nightmares are made of! Glad you made it out "ok". I assume your underwear was more than just wet...
I grew up on the water, swam competitively for several years, and was a lifeguard... And drowning scares the E36 M3 out of me.
Glad you were able to keep your wits and get out of the situation!!!
That cover looks like it would be real cool to jump onto. Its not. A friends younger brother came very close to drowning after he did that, on purpose.
Have you ever been sick? Do you recall, at any time in your life, ever being injured?
Were you in a terrible train crash yet somehow miraculously unharmed?
Seriously though, holy E36 M3! Glad you're okay.
Ugh. One of my colleagues lost his wife of 30+ years this way. He came home from a business trip to find her in the pool. She was tending to the plants around the pool when something bad happened.
That is exactly why I went to a safety cover like the one they show elephants standing on. Once we had grandkids I knew we had to make a change. You're very lucky...it's difficult to survive what you went through. I had a customer once that drowned that way.

One of my favorite movies (although everyone else hates it); glad your ok!
Whew. Never been close to drowning, but I've had a couple of close calls that make my knees weak to this day. Glad you got out okay!
Glad you're still here.

Some things I don't berk with, when I'm alone: the pool, ladders, electricity
