I cannot find a wall mount receiver hitch hanger for under $50 +shipping!

I want to hang a hitch mounted bike rack in my garage. I know I could make one for next to nothing if I still had access to a welder. Looking for something like this -

Anyone have any ideas? Google is killing me - too many hitches and bike racks but not what I need.

Would also like one to mount a removable vise to the wall next to my work bench.

thanks,

If its just to store a bike rack up on the wall, you could easily recreate that with 1/2 inch plywood, screws, and glue.

For the removeable vice, I would look into mounting the vice on a large ish (2 foot by 2 foot maybe?) sheet of thick plywood, and then use a french cleat system to hang in on the wall when you need it. Could even add a quick piece above the cleat to prevent the vice from jumping up and off the cleat while hammering or something.

That's a... really good idea!

Why didn't I think of it?

My removable vise bolts directly to the top of my workbench.

Best way would be to make friends with someone who has a welder. Wood is an alternative, but I wouldn't want my vise mounted to wood. I have a tendency to apply leverage.

I usually hang up my hitch rack on a wall mounted hook that fits through the hitch pin hole. It keeps it closer to the wall than that type of mount would, but that is pretty cool.

You could buy a straight piece of square tube big enough to loosely fit the rack and drill a couple holes straight through it. Anchor it to the wall with the open end pointed up. The rack should drop into it and hang there with no problem. Use big anchor bolts.

Junk yard for or craigslist for an old trailer hitch. Fab up the rest.

Use a bike rack to hang your bike rack.
