"Panoz" pronunciation?

I've always said and heard "PAN-ohs" but I have a customer (who owns one ) and swears it's "puh-NOZ" (like Wizard of Oz.)

Is this a veiled Vs thread?

I say PAN-aws, but that is probably wrong.

According to the first google result, PAY-nose or PAN-oz.

But the voice is british, so I dunno.

Friend took a school with them, said that the company itself called it Pay Nose, as in, you will pay through the nose.

I've always heard the man introduced as PAY-nose.

I say it more or less how Jeremy Clarkson does.

Sounds like we're both wrong. Go figure.

IIRC, Bob Varsha pronounces Pay Nose also

All you need to do is watch an ALMS race and you'll know that Pay Nose is correct.

Yah, I go to it every year at Mosport. I can think of nothing better than wandering the pit with my camera and watching the crews at work.

I say pan-nose but I hear pain-nose as well

He answered to "Doctor Pay-Nose?" the one time I met him in person. But that was at a worker party at the 2003 Petit, and my follow-up comment was "Thanks for keeping this place a race track, instead of a housing development."

Maybe he was just being polite. Crazy thing..he made his fortune as the inventor of the nicotine patch, but from what I hear, he still smokes.

I used to call the Esperante "Platypus-noz".

I always pronounced it pah-nawz.

Pay-nose, according to the Panoz family.

Geez, and all this time I've always called 'em "PAN-ozse" (soft "Z"). And while it may be correct, "PAY-nose" (hard "Z" sound, as in "nose" on your face?) is not attractive sounding at all, especially if said with a deep southern drawl.
