Yep! They actually shut down the first night early and had to finish filming the top 16 or whatever the next morning.

We have a knack for severe weather when an event is around.....conti/rolex were both delayed due to severe thunderstorms dropping hail.

I don't even get why imports show up to something like that. I can kinda understand the guys with dirt built Foxes and E36 M3 like that, you can build some stupid fast v8 junk for fairly cheap. But seems it takes more money to go fast with the little crap(I'm not even saying import anymore, I've never seen a turbo dodge on pinks either) so I can't see the point of pumping a good bit of money into something you might lose.

Hell, my plan for something like that involves a starion sitting in my great uncles junkyard that I might be able to get for free, a junkyard 360 and tons of cheap and dirty junkyard diesel boost. Run it till it pops.

Really depends on which car you start with, how you do it, and what "class" they decide to pick/car to match you with.

But for sure, all things being equal it's more expensive and more work to make a small motor make power.

This is where "there's no replacement for displacement" comes in.

But there's always exceptions to every rule.

None. Yet. And what is this 1/4 mile track that is "local" you speak of? Unless local means 2hrs one way away. Closest track is 1/8th mile and still 1.5 hrs one way. :sadpanda:

Huh. I hear a whole lotta excuses and "I was gonnas." Sounds a lot like Honda-Tech. I'll be happy to spank whatever imaginary 60's tard-barge you want to throw at the S00p3rturd whenever you're ready. It's a 2-hour ride for us, too. Beating up on Rustangs and Mulletmobiles makes it all worthwhile.

I still want to see an optional dyno competition at the Challenge. I want to see how "awful" the imports are.

Thanks. As if my wife doesn't do that enough.

I'm hoping to have something at the '14 Challenge.... And it's going to be all wrong.

I liked the "all out" show overall, but didn't care for the original Pinks.

The host annoys the piss out of me.

The highlight of the entire series for me was when he wrecked that bike.

I love drag racing. To me though the (reality pinks) is just as ridiculous as bracket racing with a buy back in option.

If we ever have a grudge match true heads up night. No buy backs, I may be out the second round.... but man that's racing! I hung in for a good 5 rounds in my mullet machine 80's camaro when I was in highschool and I felt like a king. I caught so much flack over it, undaunted I grew a mullet and side burns to match.

Now it's more money, more power but same kid having a blast doing heads up grudge match against anybody that wants to give me an excuse to blast a pass.

It kind of depresses me to watch the fake drama of drag racing when the real drama of the track is the best part.

Never cared much for all the blather of Pinks, but always enjoyed the cars and the racing. Watched it whenever I could a few years back. Are they still filming new shows? Haven't caught more than a minute of it in at least 2 years. I agree they should show more imports.

Check your press releases Bubba, Orlando Speed World was bought lock, stock, and barrel by another track owner. They are already doing massive improvements and will have a complete 2013 schedule. I'm 3000+ miles away and know that!

good to know. I guess they didn't think it was worth keeping slowpokes like me on the mailing list. (I did an 18 second pass in the geo a few years back. )

I've won bracket racing at Muncie dragway several times in everything from an Ion Redline to an '07 Ford Fusion, to a '99 Mercury Sable, to a tpi trans am. Bracket racing is all about consistancy and cutting a light....my hardest races were against stock 3cyl metro's.

AFAIK, they don't allow buy backs period.

Me, to the Clown at the Challenge a few years ago: "Man, we're bringing something berkeleying retarded next year. Just you wait!"

Clown: "I didn't know you had kids!"
