I can understand him not wanting the nose hurt on that Z... with it being one piece with the hood and the top of the fenders.. it gets expensive to repair

Well if two pool noodles are enough to protect it from signifigant damage I guess either they need to build the car to be more durable or I need to get me some of those pool noodles.
Nice way to keep the paint from getting scratched once the Volvo backs into it... Most definitely will save about $6 at the body shop once the dents are pulled.
to judge on some of the scraps my cars have gotten in NYC and Philly.. most times the other car does not wack hard into the one behind it.. just a slight nudge. In that case the high density foam on the noodles would redistribute the impact nicely

The Corrado looks to be a G60. He should be more careful, they're getting hard to find.
EDIT: Looked at it again, it's a VR. Still, remind me to leave the cars at home if I visit NYC..
Maybe they were getting ready to drive to the local fire hydrant for a swim and strapping the fun noodles to the front and rear of the car was just an easy place to strap them down for the ride.
Maybe, it was going to rain really hard and they figured if there was a flood some flotation device would keep the car from getting water damaged.
I could keep going, but they won't get any better.
